  1. I'm looking for more of a surface baits style. Was excited to see the Arashi as well. I currently have a live target which is subsurface and a few manns baits mostly made for redfish that stay above surface. I'll try to post a pic if the one I'm mostly looking for. Looking for baits 6" or less. Cost not a huge factor.
  2. I was wondering if anyone could offer me some advice on which wake baits they use and why they prefer them? I've seen a few used and worked really well. If you can provide weight length surface V or subsurface make model and ball park price.
  3. Not at the marsh. Mostly in the canals locally and some smaller waters. Was there a couple other times with BBD and going again soon with him and another friend wants to take his boat there.
  4. If your a fishermen who likes to read and learn about new lakes... Stick Marsh is the place. Been there a few times with a couple different friends and have caught fish consistently. Most guides are going to bring out shiners and have you bait fish all day. Words of advise. Watch the STUMPS. If you don't see any around.... Watch the stumps. They are everywhere in that place. Storms and wind lick up fast there and move in quickly of the flat land surrounding. I will be heading there again a couple times in the next fees weeks to pick it apart some more. Already have caught multiple fish 5+-8lbs there with no help besides electronics.
  5. Spots during the day aren't always the best places to fish at night. Try looking for shallow flats with lots of cover. Fish will move from deeper water to shallow at night to feed.
  6. WRB.... Try fishing around the sunken island in Casitas.
  7. Sustained wind of 15-35 in Florida is called afternoon showers. Lol.
  8. Grew up in north NJ and have caught several over 6lbs. They are everywhere in NJ. Biggest was as a kid and caught one 8 lbs.
  9. Haha. Went from NJ to Cali to now Florida. Check out the clubs that fish lakes casitas, castaic, pyrimad and piru. Fished all while I was there and it's a totally different world out there. Your mostly throwing huge swim baits or vertically jigging tiny 4" robo worms.
  10. What area/state are these from? May help in identifying these for some.
  11. I could only dream of high 60-70 degree water. Fished to day and temp was 89.8 degrees. Caught them in the shallows with wake baits and topwater and also caught some deeper on weighted swim baits and chatter baits as well.
  12. You CAN change gear ratios after purchase just an FYI. Although not easy nor cheap but can be done with quite a few of the higher quality reels being made. Revo's cast like a dream. One of my best casting reels owned with some of the heaviest braid I fish with.
  13. Why purpose do you need the slowest tatula for? My choice is the Revo!!! And do your self a favor ad stay away from the spider wire. Complete garbage. Spend the extra couple bucks for power pro or suffix 832.
  14. PZ3.... Congrats dude!!!! Good thing for the wife she wasn't a double digit!!! Lol.
  15. IMO the big fish bite EVERY day!!!! Just need to be where they are feeding!!! Most people say spring because that's when a lot of the females are carrying eggs and weigh more.... Fall both make and female are gorging themselves just like bears do getting ready for winter... ALL of these fish although maybe a little lighter during summer are all aggressively feeding every day during the summer!!!! Everyone just needs to be able to find where the big girls go during hot weather and long days of sunlight. This is just a guess on my part but summer fishing doesn't bode well with a high percentage of guys because they do not like to fish in deeper water nor at night!!!
  16. Smallies CANT resist a helgremite!!!! The best live bait I've ever used for them PERIOD!!!
  17. Doesn't Hawaii also have Peacocks?
  18. Large swim baits!!!!
  19. Next time try using another rod with a snagging hook to get your "misplaced" gear from the bottom of the lake!!! Beats swimming in cold water...
  20. Frogs early in AM or just before dark. Buzz baits same time or if slight chop to the water. Spinner baits almost any time of day. White or combo of white/chartreuse and blue have produced good for me there. I have also had a lot of success on Rapala 4.5" floaters just twitched below the surface and allow to pop on top of water. Will get most strikes while lure floats to surface or on surface. I know many people have stopped using but during tough days it was always hard to beat a 4.5" Slug-go in the blue and silver shiner.
  21. NIGHT FISHING!!!!
  22. Awesome lake. Grew up in the area. Try throwing a buzz bait or spinnerbait in the lanes that open up in the weeds. Frogs work great first light also.
  23. If he had access to a float tube.... Wouldn't he not be posting a FLOAT TUBE post?!?!? Some people are new to the sport and don't know if the will continue it in the future. As fishermen it's out job to get ANY and all types of people into the sport of fishing. People need not be discouraged about having to buy expensive equipment just to BEGIN to enjoy fishing.
