  2. Originally from Rockaway in north jersey but now living the bass fishing dreams in southern Florida.

VMC wacky weed less hooks for me. Rarely miss fish with them. Even the big ones both here Cali and NJ.
  4. I could be mistaken but I do believe the state of Florida owns all pieces of water and manage them as well. The only places that are not managed by them are pay to fish lakes where the owners are responsible for stocking andanahing their own land. All the canals and such are all property of the state and FWC has jurisdiction over them all. Even in "private" communities unless there is a paid envirwntalist there to study the effects of removing bass from their waters.
  5. Should have called FWC on the guys keeping them. One good fine and possible arrest would keep them from doing it again and possibly prevent any friends they may tell or find out about it. It's *** if you ask me.
  6. Rolo... Green pond is a private lake. Not the easiest to get access to.
  7. I'm a little more worried about the gators you CANT see... Lol. Like the one BBD saw laying on the bottom. I'm sure he would have loved a nice 5-10lbs bass right at the side of the boat waiting to be lipped and pulled in the boat minus one of our hands or arms. Lol
  8. Google earth historical views.
  9. Just seems like lake is seeing a decent amount of pressure during the week and crushed on the weekends. Figured it may be a good idea during non daylight hours and may be a good timeti catch some pigs. Thinking one thing may be to net ALL fish as the gators feed pretty actively at night. What do most of you guys use during your night time fishing???
  10. Probably means the bigger run if them hasn't reached your area yet. Give it a couple weeks and they should def be near you. The smaller fish tend to show first in little waves and then they will all get there. Depends also in how close you are to a river that they spawn in.
  11. Already in the know about the stumps and would never run above idle at night there. It's hard enough during the daylight hours. What makes you say it's too dangerous? Big spray and the correct clothing can keep the bugs at bay.
  12. Porkleaker... You from NJ?
  13. Clams work excellent. My PB striper was caught in a clam. 42#. I use magic/elastic thread as well to hold then on. When the bass are finicky they will even suck the belly/guts of the clams off your bait with not even the slightest notice unless holding your rod in hand.
  14. Try swim jigs or chatter bait style jigs as well run right I top of the slabs.
  15. Has anyone here ever fished the Marsh at night? How did you do? What baits were productive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  16. Snook... I'd love to get together with you and catch one if these buggers. Show me the way of the Jedi peacock fisherman!!! Please!!! Lol
  17. Use a small mesh bag with a few rocks in it as well to sink in area you can throw your net to. If current takes it away they will be wherever your chum floats to.
  18. Try chumming the area with a large can of a fish based cat food. Poke holes in te can with a screwdriver and throw into area you are going to fish. Bullheads can't resist worms. Any of the other types any kind if oily fish will do the truck and chicken livers as well. I like using dead herring for channels. Nice oily bait that doesn't wash out if scent after just a few minutes if soaking.
  19. Mix with dough baits. Can make your own at home and mix in. Anything oily tends to leave more scent in the water.
  20. Sometimes it depends on which type trout. Rainbows love powerbait. Browns love spinners and small shiners. And brook trout love worms. Just a basic starting point IMO.
  21. Clams and eels!!!!!
  22. Sorry snook. Just noticed you mentioned eels as well. tERRIFIC bait. One of my favorites. Just need to get them down past the bluefish first. Lol. And if using bunker. Use the heads of dead/frozen baits. Blues will leave the bonier heads alone for the most part.
  23. Just like freshwater bass. Stripers like structure also. Rocky bottoms and any type of wooden structures if in a decent depth of water. Say 10ft plus or deeper. Stripers will sit right next to them as an ambush point to grab a quick snack as something passes by. Clams work great and if you have a boat follow behind a clamming boat and watch as the stripers boil behind eating any morsels the boat discharges. If using from land break cleaned shells with small aluminum bat into the water as chum.
  24. Great call sir snook. Those tubes mimic eels to my best knowledge. They also love sand and blood worms at certain times of year.
