  1. Sounds pretty simple. The bass are just MISSING the frog!!!! If more top water blow ups are what you are trying to film it may need a title change to something other then a frog. The stuff your fishing them in may be too thick for them to accurately home in on your frog. Maybe try a large field mouse or some type of "snake" bait sized worm. I personally tend to get the most "show" for top water baits in sparser Lilly pads or just above subsurface grasses and along predominant weed lines.
  2. I'm gonna go out on a whim here and say the action of your baits with the lighter wired hooks may be key to who's making the fish strike in the first place. If you want to catch more fish do yourself a favor, stop listening to what you "should" or "should not" be using and just stick with what has been working for you in the past. If you have been catching hundreds of bass on a white worm while night fishing but tradition says to use something dark, what would you use???? I've used all types of hooks while using braided line but today's market says I should be using a "super line" hook so I will catch more fish. 90% of fishing lures and tackle are meant to catch FISHERMEN, not to catch fish!!!!
  3. One thing you need to take into consideration when reading others answers. Number one is that most fishermen are creatures of habit. If they catch their personal best on a specific bait then that's is the best bait on the market. Number two is to realize or look into whether the people answering your post are fishing the same types of waters you are. Some baits may work in deep clear lakes and then be absolute garbage in a shallow stained body of water. You may get a more subjective outlook if you locate a few dependable people in your area and private message them to get your answers. I know I myself would take bait choices from other areas not pertaining to the water I fish and just dismiss them. Example: I've read a TON of guys using the duo realis spybaits in deep clear water with 4-6lb test slaying monsters out west. I've read ZERO articles of the same baits being killers here in the waters of Florida. If they're are of the same Florida strain of bass then why isn't this the case?
  4. I used these flipping and pitching last week and ended up going through 4 packs of the 5 baits from 730am until 230pm. I did notice they are a bit soft and don't hold up as well as other brands but they do catch fish. Sounds like a day where a smaller presentation would have been preferred with the cooler temps. Don't give up on them yet.
  5. Why does every thread turn into an advertisement for some OTHER brand then the original poster is trying to figure out? I believe he was asking for someone to identify a lure he USED to own and wants to find more, not asking everyone what their replacement opinion may be!!!
  6. Haven't fished it myself but few friends have. Just fish in areas known to hold a lot of bait. Access to cooler water especially is herring are present.
  7. I would love to fish the big O with someone.
  8. Raritan holds a lot of school sized stripers. I've caught them up to 40lbs on a 6' Berkeley lightning mh action on many occasions. It's not the rod that catches the fish. It's the guy behind the rod that should answer your own question as far as ability. Bait wise I would use fresh clams!!!
  9. If you get the magnum size they also work well sub surface. I use 1/8 or 1/4 oz weight in front Texas rigged and reel like a spinnerbait and work the same type areas.
  10. What do you need to know?
  11. I dis buzz baits during the times when they aren't "supposed" to work and constantly catch fish on them. Just remember to have a follow up rod for missed fish and throw it before even reeling in the buzz bait all the way in.
  12. Yes. John prince park.
  13. A large part of the lake is shore accessible north of lantana rd.

Paul... They aren't dark, they are just well tanned. Lol
  15. Order a kit with different size colors and type of blades and you can change whichever ones you need to on other baits as well.
  16. I use and catch with them 365 days a year. Many many different presentations you can use them in.
  17. Change the blades out.
  18. They are everywhere in Florida in NUMBERS!!!! Constant eating machines and also carry giardia and **** everywhere. Some kind of control plan needs to be come up with to manage them!!!
  19. Use live night crawlers if you want to catch the tilapia.
  20. Canals mostly.
  21. Devils horse. YouTube the video of them in the Amazon hitting them as well. EXPLOSIVE!!!!
  22. I'd look for a guide to stick marsh/farm 13. Arguably the best trophy lake in Florida.
  23. PM me your trip info and I'll see if we can get together and get some peacocks for you.
