  2. Hey Mook, Who said you could go on vacation? I'm workin my butt off here!!! Hope you are having a great time! Ronnie

  4. Welcome aboard! Sounds like you are geared up to go. Ronnie
  5. Any friend of the Mook's is a friend of mine. WELCOME! Ronnie
  6. Sam, Get yourself some small, heavy rubber bands from Staples. Put the hook in the first guide and slip the sinker under the rubber band around your grip. Leave the band around your grip while fishing. When you are ready to store the rod or move to a new spot you will be all set. Be careful spinning the weight around the rod, if you have a high modulus rod the sinker can chip it and cause it to break. JMHO Ronnie
  7. Glad to have you here! WELCOME Ronnie
  8. Glad to have you aboard Mike! WELCOME! Ronnie
  9. Kevin, Get the trout line in the proper size for your rod. Double tapered weight forward floating as suggested above is good. The bass will not know that it didn't say "Bass" on the box. LOL It will do just fine. Ronnie
  10. Don't feel bad Mook, I gotta work too. Ronnie
  11. Everyone knows the best estimate of a bass's weight is length X girth + the year of your birthday divided by the number of bass you caught that day and add two pounds. At least this is how I estimate the weight of my catch. I'm sure I have caught and released a couple of world records based on this estimate. ;D I have resorted to those silly scales a couple of times, but they are obviously wrong. They always measure way to light, if you ask me. LOL Ronnie

  16. Speckled Bass, There is a little netiquette that is helpful here. When I joined this forum I introduced myself on the general board and almost instantly received dozens of welcomes and never felt so noticed in my life. Any time you join a new forum it's a good idea to make it known on the main or general topic board. Try going to the 'General" board and post a short introduction and I think you will be surprised at the response. I hope this is helpful to you. Check out LukyinKentucky's post. You will get the idea. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1183044896 BTW "WELCOME to the best bass fishing forum there is... Ronnie

  20. Take a look at this thread. I think it will be helpful to you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1152205660 WELCOME TO THE FORUM!! Ronnie
  21. If you just HAVE TO get another rod and you fish a lot of weeds & pads, I don't see a 7'+ heavy power fast rod on your list. JMHO Ronnie
  22. That would be me. LOL On a nice day it's a coin toss weather to fish or ride. I ride a Goldwing GL1800 and I am fabricating a rod/tackle box rack for my bike's tailer hitch so I can ride to the fishing hole. 8-) WELCOME BUZZ! Ronnie
  23. You said it GW! I have fished for more than 30 years in a dozen states and caught many 100s of bass and my PB is still just a hair over 6lbs. I have 2 LM mounts on my wall and both are around 6lbs and over 20 years old. LOL I have a 9lb Hybrid Striper coming from the taxidermist soon. Ronnie
  24. KB, I have this drying motor and it works fine. When drying finish on a rod with a pistol grip, I wrap it with masking tape to center the rod on the motor shaft a little better. I hope I understood your question and I hope this is helpful. Ronnie
