Added a new combo to the stable. A Evergreen Kaleido Inspirare Special Model IRSC-66MHF-TG40X Black Raven Extreme RS, the history and technology in this rod is pretty incredible. I paired it with a brand new Megabass Hyper Lariat IS71HL Galaxy Red.

POLL: NRX Plus MBR vs Conquest MBR
The Conquest also has Spiral X.

POLL: NRX Plus MBR vs Conquest MBR
Besides the fact that every NRX is built on a Friday by short attention span teens, they have a hodge podge of recoil and torzite guides, the updated NRX+ has the same blank as the Conquest, without the improved build quality the Conquest usually has. Go with the Conquest or better yet pass on the Glorious and go with the Ultima if you are wanting to stay under the Shimano umbrella.

Metanium DC or Metanium MGL
If you can wait until late this year, there is a good possibility a refreshed Metanium DC will be available/announced, or just get a 2021 Scorpion DC right now instead.

High end Bottom contact rod or two middle/upper tier rods? which would you do?
That rubber band was the only thing that wouldn't want to slide off the hood of the reel seat, it does look weird at first glance ?

You could also go the custom route and not have a off the rack rod that anyone can walk in and buy. Here's one of my bottom contact custom rods, it's built on a ST. CROIX SCV 7FT MEDIUM HEAVY FAST blank in a raw finish, it has carbon grips and titanium torzite guides that are spiral wrapped, it's perfectly balanced and is extremely light and sensitive, this rod with a reel attached floats in your hand and feels weightless, when your fishing and you forget your holding a fishing rod then you are on to something, this one rivals my Daiwa Racing Designs and Evergreen Rapid Gunner.

High end Bottom contact rod or two middle/upper tier rods? which would you do?
It seems like there are countless X brand rod vs NRX posts online, the NRX is not the lightest, nor is it the most sensitive, and for sure not the best built, but some individuals are obsessed with whatever special powers they believe these rods possess. My suggestion is to just buy a NRX then you'll know, otherwise even if you choose a better rod, which there are a lot, you'll always wonder if the NRX is better, if you can't find one in stock then just wait until you do.

what's your maximum budget? Legend Xtreme AGS, NRX, Conquest, Phenix k2, 2021 Steez AGS is what would be considered upper mid range, all very nice rods, but there is better. And anyone trying to tell you a quality higher end rod won't help your catch rate is misleading you it's known as the crab mentality, go out and get the best bottom contact rod you can afford.

Shimano or Daiwa?
I will have to admit that typo is what I get for looking down on lesser quality brands, a market exists for every demographic.
-
Shimano or Daiwa?
Aside from the breaking, as far as mid range and up daiwa and Shimanos go, they are far superior in build quality than Abu or lews.
-
Shimano or Daiwa?
It's either Daiwa or Shimano based off your braking preferences, Abu Garcia is a far distant 3rd with Lews being an after thought, people might not like it but it's true.

Does jighead color matter for smallmouth, as in do you try to match the soft plastic or is unpainted/silver just as effective?
90% of the time it only matters to the angler in my experience anyway.

Rod for A rigs and glide baits
For the price I feel nothing beats the Irod Genesis III for big baits, super light weight and balanced also.

Website with crazy good deals on rods
I'm not sure about your granny but my grandma is sharp as a tack, I don't have to worry about her getting scammed, like my grandma says "don't be so opened minded that your brains fall out." And besides that, scammers gotta make money too, who am I to intervene?

I would have just encouraged the OP to make the leap, sometimes it's best to learn the hard way, since it's blatantly obvious its not legit.

Most likely one if my IP79L'S any of the OG Zillion variants balance perfectly with the rod. I have never had any problems ordering from overseas vendors, multiple rods and reels have arrived safely with tracking.

Do I really have to spend $100+ for a true fast action medium rod?
If you could deal with a one piece, I would consider the Ugly Stik carbons, they are a true fast action and great for the money.

Would you upgrade or just sell and get nrx?
I think he does know, the definition does mean "angry or bitter" maybe Tom is just being Acrid. ??

What type of football jigs and Texas rigs? Finesse football jigs like keitechs with double tail grubs, or heavy wire football jigs with bulky heavy trailers like a flapping hog II? what jig weights? Minus the trailer? Depends on the technique, for sparse cover to open water Bottom Contact I would say it's these, from what I have and actually use in this order. #1Daiwa Bottom Contact II #2Phenix K2 765H #3Megabass P5 X Bites #4LEGEND XTREME AGS 7FT1MH XFAST Honorable mention: NRX+ 873CRR which you can't go wrong with, it's just not what it could have been. Most of the rods I listed are on backorder, but well worth the wait.

I would skip the Xtasy its not that great of a rod for bottom contact, despite how the company markets it. As for the NRX they are not the end all for ultimate sensitivity, lightness, balance, build quality etc, but they are plenty sensitive, they do get a lot of hype and for good reason, in the past when they were first introduced there was nothing really like them sensitivity wise in the US market aside from the Phenix K2, today that has changed drastically but they still benefit from past accomplishments. My opinion is to just buy a NRX, because even if you select a superior rod you will always wonder if a NRX is better. But if you are looking at the NRX line, consider the Conquests also, overall just a much better rod. Another option would be the brand new 2021 Steez AGS line, they are beautiful rods and edge out the NRX in every category, one of my most sensitive non JDM rods I have. And don't forget the Phenix K2 series the K2 Torzite Casting 765H is a great bottom contact rod on par with the sensitivity of a NRX and a great warranty.
