I think it is really great thing they are doing as to making it fair to everyone so that people that guide or fish for a living that get more practice than the everyday fisherman have more of a fair chance.

Have you ever been on one of those party boats I'm kinda ify about that Bering I'm used to running my own boat with one other persons with me. I just get aggervated around a lot of people. Also what kind of fish? Luckily I fish salt water here in SC so I have reels.

. I know about currents but not in a kayak. I fish for redfish and trout here in south Carolina a little bit. Would those places you posted earlier be pretty easy for newer kayakers.

I purchased the the 4x HDI. It is the same model just without gps. The picture is very clear and it works. But when I first got this unit on the regular scan it just looked as if there was so much trash in the water you couldn't get a picture of structure to know. The down scan was the same thing, if there was a fish on down scan you couldn't even try to see it. Not because of screen size or clarity of screen. If you went down on the sensitivity it would clear up but then it wouldn't pick up on structure or fish. Down scan doesn't even have sensitivity setting. I called lowrance and they sent me a new transducer right away and I changed it and it got a little better but it still isn't what I expected. Now this is just my experience, I still have the unit and use it everytime on the water and it does the job. If you get the unit and it does the same and you fix it let me know how please!! It could just be my unit. But all in all its the cheapest thing you can get that has everything you need and it will get the job done.

That was one thing I really wanted to do is get a tarpon charter they are a awesome looking and powerful fish (from pictures and videos). Yea the mosquitos are extremely bad here to I keep 4 cans of bugspray in my truck. Defiantly going to have to check those places out. I'm stupid excited.

Were do you fish with the shrimp? Canals, mangroves, I just don't understand all that stuff all I have around here is marsh.

I'm getting married in June and we have decided to take our honeymoon to Islamorada. I don't want to go down there without going out on the water and trying to fish. I don't have the money to hire a guide and I know nothing about catching fish in that type environment. I was thinking of renting kayaks to take out and maybe try out my luck on some fish. What is the simplest place to fish and have a good time. mostly because I want my women to have a good time and not get aggravated. If there is any good places to stay also would be nice. I wish I could go out on a charter but I don't have the money. Any fun things to do would be good to!! I just want some simple and fun fishing I just can't imagine going to the fishing capital of the world and not fishing.

I did test drive it. When the only issue with the boat is leg room and live wells I'm not going to pass up the steal I got when I didn't own a boat. I can't be picky when I don't have all the money in the world.

A year ago I was offered free courses at college to take Machining classes that consisted of 2 years (3 courses). I took up the offer and took the first course, I was good at it. Getting near the end of the first course I started getting tired of it because I was more worried about going out and doing things like drinking, fishing, and making small money, just like you my heart wasn't into it. So when the next course had come up they told me it would also be free because I was one of the first people to take it. I told them I didn't want to do it anymore I got things I have to take care of. When my girlfriend at the time now fiancé tried to tell me to stick with it I wouldn't do it. A month ago a man my dad knows told me he needed an apprentice machinist and told me to come by the job and bring my resume. When he looked at my resume he said I need the certification the 3 courses would have given me. I would have been making $17 starting out. But I didn't finish. Not saying that you would be going out getting a wrestling job but you never want to be like me and look back and say I really wish I would have stuck with it. You will have time to fish and get out there and live life, but just remember high school only comes once in your life. Stick with it bud!!

When sitting in the driver seat in my bass boat there is no leg room. Its either have your legs straight out under the console or put your feet to the side. Also extremely hard to get out. If the steering wheel was higher this most likely would not be a problem but when sitting in the seat it is literally in my lap. This seems dangerous. Anyone had this problem and fixed it. Any ideas except deal with it lol

Ok I always put sta bil fuel stabilizer in my gas and after 7 or 8 months I can tell the gas isn't good enough to be running. If it were me I would do what TOMUSTANG said I much rather pay waist 200 bucks instead of damaging the motor and with in a few years blowing it up.

How about one of the life vest that inflate when it gets submerged. Would that be a good investment?

I have to many soft plastics already. I have 3 binders full of plastics. But I guarantee when I get in that store I'm going to look at something and say I don't have that one and will never use it. lol
