  1. Not sure. I don't believe I've ever tried the regular Trilene. When I get my spinning setup I plan to try some Berkely IronSilk though.
  2. Braid doesn't lift the rocks I fish. Lol I'd rather lose one $3 lure a day as opposed to one $6 lure a day, so yes.
  3. Does anyone else feel like it's worth buying higher end top water lures or is it just me? I normally go cheap with my lures because I lose them a lot, but I very rarely lose topwaters. That makes me want to buy higher end ones to try out. I have thought about buying one higher end lure for everything (spinnerbaits, crankbaits, swimbaits, etc.), but I figure I'll lose them all the first day. At least I can do it with top water without worrying about losing them.
  4. Chatterbait I retrieve like a spinnerbait. I point the rod down, reel two or three turns, then pop it twice. I do that the whole retrieve.
  5. If I weren't out I'd be fishing with one right now. Maybe it's time to stock up on Wal-Mart spinner baits.
  6. If it doesn't have enough power to push the slide back, try to find someone who does reloading and buy your ammo from them. They tend to make the rounds a little hotter than factories.
  7. PM DVT, he does custom rods so I'm sure he can answer all your questions.
  8. My budget would be $150 or lower. I would have to sell some stuff to get that much.
  9. I guess I'm never going to blossom. I dropped out of HS and still don't have a job or license and don't plan on getting my GED or going to college. I'm to lazy to do it and don't have any reason to care where I end up.
  10. I wish I had the money to get one built. I need a better all around rod. Lol
  11. Don't forget fingernail clippers. For me they work the best for cutting line.
  12. I use everything in my backpack. Then again, I only have 10 lures and then my T-rig stuff. Lol
  13. That's the fun of fishing. You never know if you're going to catch your PB on the first cast or if you'll get nothing after four hours.
  14. I'd get a M/F or M/MF. For the line I'd switch up to either 4lb or 6lb, unless of course you prefer braid. In that case, 15lb or 20lb. I think with that setup you'll be good to go until you decide to upgrade.
  15. The one I live in. I never get the chance to take my rod and reel when I travel.
  16. I have a box for hard baits, a box for spinners and buzzbaits, a box for frogs and soft plastics, and a box for terminal tackle. I have the main compartment for boxes, the secondary compartment for spools of line and I'm fixing to start putting soft plastics in it to save storage. The smaller compartment has pliers, clippers a, and a tool that I bring along in case of a backlash. The side compartments I plan to use for a scale and bug spray.
  17. Cast under docks, trees, if there's rocks around cast into them. That corner looks like a good place to try, May have some weeds.
  18. An Ugly Stik is what I started bass fishing with and I still use it quite a bit. It's not a horrible rod to use, you can still tell when something hits it. If you can't, then you need to work on you're fishing abilities.
  19. Just don't do like me when you learn how to use a BC. I tried to learn on my own and didn't know how to properly set it up. I backlashed a lot trying to learn. I used a BC for two years without knowing how to set it up and earlier this year I seen a suggested video on YouTube that said "How To Cast A Baitcaster." When I watched the video I felt like and idiot. I set my reel up properly, made a cast, and was amazed at the difference. So just a tip, don't try to learn something on your own if you're clueless about it.
  20. I'll stick to my 12lb Trilene Big Game mono. I want to try some other brands, but I've always used big game and it works fine for me.
  21. I like listening to buzzbaits, but I never catch anything on them. The popper normally gets the job done for me.
  22. I've always had good luck on watermelon colors, but I don't think I've ever tried plum so I can't compare the two.
  23. People do it for the exact reason that they did that too. Most of them do it just to get on people's nerves. They know if they keep fishing it it will get under the dock owner's skin, and they find pleasure in that for some reason.
  24. I guess I'm the only one that got that. Either that or I'm the only one with a sense of humor. Lol
  25. Never wish for fall. Summer is my favorite time of year. Fall is ok, spring sucks because of allergies and winter brings on bad depression. If summer was year-round, I'd be the happiest man on earth.
