  1. Good video. I was just happy to see folks that really know what they are doing go that long without a bite. Maybe I'll take down the for sale sign up there and give it another year ?
  2. You can try calling Keiths Tackle. If he does not have them I bet he can tell you how to get one.
  3. I agree with the 2 posts right above. Going to humminbirds from lowrance I have to say the lakemaster card is night and day difference for Toledo Bend. The Lakemaster has so much more and accurate details. With that said, I do catch myself buzzing over areas looking at the mapping instead of finding the cover on the area and fishing the area. Big mistake. Great mapping makes it easier to find the areas but you still have to pinpoint the cover or structure the fish are using at the time. You still have to catch the fish. I tend to always be looking for the big groups of fish I can see easily. Si and DI are great to scan an area but I like the old 2d when on the trolling motor.
  4. I know you are serious, its the only place in 185,000 acres I can always get bit.
  5. Six Mile has been pretty dead for me.
  6. Well Joe, at least you accomplished something. Mine probably does not work, hasn't been opened in 5 years. On the bright side I caught one over 7 in the lake back of the house yesterday.
  7. This coonass sure misses the matted grass?
  8. When the Mississipi river starts falling again in a couple of weeks I'll be fine. Flip sticks, 65lb braid, and 3/4 oz weight in 2 feet of water. That will tide me over til the next trip. Getting harder and harder to leave my comfort zone.
  9. I'll probably go back in august. When they start schooling a little more I might catch one or two, at least they will show me where they are.? I will say this, I figured out if you ain't breaking off and getting hung up pretty regular you probably ain't catching much. Looks to me they are liking the thickest stuff available. Just my observation.
  10. Just got in from a few days up there. Very tough for me. 3 days, maybe 6 keepers. Going from 50-60 fish per half day in Venice to that is hard to justify. The locals I know that usually catch pretty good are even grumbling about how tough the lake is fishing. Hope it gets better, I'm not willing to work that hard for them. I used to be able to at least catch some small fish or spots but the last couple of years have been very different.
  11. Worse case if the fish ain't biting you can get a pretty good burger?
  12. You sure?? Thought it was 5 bucks.
  13. Well, I almost made it up there for the weekend. Maybe next week.........
  14. I'll be back the weekend before the 4th of July. How long I stay depends on the fishing.
  15. North side of Mill? Welcome, you will have a lot of fun. I'm one creek up north of six mile.
  16. I'm dizzy from graphing for 2 days?. The farther north I go the more fish I am marking. Wonder if this is a trend with the lack of grass? What worries me is I'm not catching small fish, that may pick up next month or so. The lake has just been plain mean to me lately. On the bright side, I'm sure learning how to adjust my units.
  17. I agree with this. I know the absence of grass is hard on me. I am lost without the deep grass lines. Pulled the plug on the weekend after a couple of days. Catching 5-6 fish on half day trips ain't worth it to me when I can catch 20+ in South LA. Fish I'm catching are healthy and solid 2.5-3.5 lbs but just so few bites. I'm Looking for a camp down south, closer to home and a lot more action.
  18. I'd try to find a neighborhood with a lot of permanent residents and few to no rentals. I've been looking for 5+ years for the right one. Got tired of looking at a lot of junk in bad places. Most of the places we looked at the wife wouldn't go in. I bought a new travel trailer a few years back til one pops up. I'd settle for a waterfront lot I could put it on but that's harder to find than a decent camp at a reasonable price. I still do most of my fishing down south so don't want to spend a fortune for a camp I use once a month or so. And, I am not retired so I don't want to spend all my time cutting grass and keeping up maintenance on a place. There are a lot of places that could be great with some time and effort. If I found a lot on the water I'd probably move the travel trailer there and build a similar cover over it like I have now. After I retire I could then build a camp and turn the cover into a nice enclosed boat and storage area. I'll be around the south end this weekend. If you see a BassCat with red power poles flag me down.
  19. I'm gonna wait for the long weekend next week and go with the 40,000 nuts that will be out there.
  20. Thanks guys. There are usually some on the south side of miles in six mile and back of gilleys point. Jacks is a short run to check that out.
  21. If any of yall run across a nice bream bed and don't mind posting it, I'd appreciate it. I usually fish the south end from Indian mounds south on the texas side. Gonna try to get the grandkids on a few.
  22. Nice, thanks for the report. I'll probably be back up there in a couple of weeks.
  23. Yep, one morning I launched and parked between keith combs and todd faircloth. Think it was a strike king deal they had going on. See Harold allen a lot. Also met tommy martin and talked for an hour. I'd like to spend a day in the boat with him.
  24. Is he still at midlake ?
