  1. I'm ready to start getting back there too. saturday, warm, barometer crashing, if you can dodge the showers it should be on. Im stuck down south this weekend. Anyone else having fits with the Bass Pro Shops popup?
  2. Didn't give up yet, but some of the comments above are what I was after. Love the map. It kinda goes with what I've been thinking about. The areas with high catch rates seem to be areas that have almost ideal migration routes. Indian Mounds could be used in a Bass classroom and there and the north bank of Housen have it all very close. If you could drain the lake you could stand in the channels and see the routes. Would be great to build a model of that terrain to study. As much as we think we know, there is a lot we don't have a clue. Some say bass move a lot, others say they don't. This time of year makes me think a lot about their movement. How am I able to catch fish in 2 feet of water on a warm winter day and a couple of days later they are found stacked up in 32 feet. The two types of bass could explain a lot.
  3. Catt, If you are not too busy this time of year, how about a back to basics on the fall to winter to spring migration? Might make these cold nights go by quicker. Don't use specific locations, more of a general discussion. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas.
  4. 25 Monday morning, should warm up to 32 by 10 or 11 o'clock. May have to take off the Artic Suit at 3 when it hits a balmy 42-43
  5. 49 degrees.........dang, didn't think it would drop that low that fast. I need to keep an eye open for those warmup weekends already. Thanks for the report.
  6. My strategy for Saturday morning involves slippers, hot chocolate and a snuggy
  7. 69 saturday morning, warming up a little during the day 71-73. May be a degree or two cooler today as it was going down a degree or so every couple days. a little cooler at the main lake.
  8. My best answer Nitro is,,I don't have a clue. I saw a lot of bait in the back of small feeder coves a couple of weeks ago and this weekend they are gone. Saw lots of large bait balls in the mouths of main creeks this weekend. Don't know which way they are going. I'm considering running up there this week, pick up the boat, and get the camp ready for winter. I'll hit the reset button in January and start over.
  9. As far as color, I'm not real big on a lot of different colors. Probably because I come from muddy water fishing. I do experiment more in the clear water but usually throw green pumpkin magic or good old black/blue, junebug or black neon. Real clear and i go to some watermelons.
  10. Little Fish, looked for you Sunday. Fishing was pretty good this weekend in the mornings. Caught a few nice fish Saturday morning. Had a 5 and a 4, a couple of 3's and a handful of 2's. Tons of small fish, I'm sure 100 if you count the small yellows and whites too. It was every cast for a good while. Did not get a bite Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning was slower, 30 or so with maybe 5 or 6 keepers. Sunday afternoon slow, 4 keepers. Much better than I had been doing. I think if i fished for the bigger fish when they are hot and heavy I could catch a few more but i just love the action.
  11. I'm driving a grey 4wd Tundra........I'm trying my best to get there this weekend again. Probably be in later Friday. This year has been off for me all year.
  12. I'm in dink mode. Caught 7 keepers Saturday and Sunday morning total. Lots of small fish. Stopped at dink central on the way in Sunday and spent a couple of hours catching a ton of small fish and white/yellow bass. Lots of fun anyway.
  13. I wish a few of the 635 million folks that fish from Indian mounds to buck creek in the spring would go up there.
  14. 13.5 miles @ 80 mph is 10 minutes and 7 seconds.....I was close
  15. I don't run the lake much, usually launch where I fish or close by. I would guess 12-15 miles by the boat lanes to the north end of Housen. One of the tournament guys will be along and can tell you to the minute.
  16. Friday can't get here quick enough. I'll be somewhere around six mile, housen or mill come Saturday morning.
  17. Save me a few for next weekend.
  18. Yes, the one above is the one I'll be in.
  19. Little Fish, If you see a white basscat with 2 red power poles flag me down. I'm in Six Mile almost every weekend when the fishing is good.
  20. I'm glad now I didn't do much Friday afternoon. I would have been at Six Mile Saturday for sure. I left early Saturday to bring the boat back home to get it ready to sell.
  21. The temps Guidroz posted is about what I saw last weekend also.
  22. Glad to see you coming back Felix. I'm sure we could round up a few rods for the folks that fly in. They would have to be better than the 3 piece or 2 piece ones. I know I have a few at the camp there for emergencies. Nothing great but a couple of falcon originals, a Powell worm rod, KVD cranking stick and a couple others. I have a couple of spinning outfits too. Been leaving them on the deck of the boat but no one will steal them. I would think bring your reels and someone can hook you up with rods. plus, I don't use half of the ones in the boat.
  23. It will be good to visit with friends again. It will be a different lake without the grass. Very little to be found anywhere.
  24. Looks like the fish are here today, gone tomorrow. Caught 30 or so Friday afternoon on 2 spots and could not get a bite on either Saturday morning or afternoon. Looked around the area and its like they just vanished. the area was full of bait and fish friday but could not even find suspended fish or even bait. I did catch 6 between 2-3 lbs saturday morning shallow but Sat afternoon I struggled to catch 4, and 2 were spots. Packed up and came home Sat night, probably get back at them next week.
  25. BF, great pictures and info. Thanks for sharing.
