  1. Yep I just did a bunch of homework on Rogers In put. Thanks Roger it's funny how studying bass habitat can really help your game. I have found that EVERY time I locate pennywort near tule clumps I am on fish. Locating fish is usually not a problem. I want more ten pound plus fish.
  2. Yes I miss fish all the time and come back in an hour and catch em.
  3. This would be difficult due to the uncontrolled variables of your experiment. How many cast, date and time and structure all would change the effectiveness of each lure. This is why there is no number 1 lure. One day, at a certain time, in a specific cover any lure can be the ticket. The op has a great idea but the accuracy of the experiment would require extremely thorough record keeping to control the many test variables.
  4. I got the idea on u tube. If you search bass fishing in reeds you will see the video. It shows just enough without really explaining anything.
  5. Thanks WRB. You are spot on! They are tall and in some spots are in 6 plus fow.
  6. What I'm wondering is can the bass get way back in the stalks of the tulles? I catch alot of smaller fish around the outside of the clumps. Do any of you use heavy braid to cast deep into the clump? I'm positive fish can hide in there but getting to them is hard.
  7. Take him fishing again. If a guy repeatedly beats you, he is better!
  8. I live in northern cali. Clear lake, oroville and delta. The main weeds here are pennywort and tulles. I always fish the edges of the pennywort but have been thinking I should be punching.
  9. Please tell me how you fish these weeds specifically. Include tackle used and methods of catching. Do you fish the edges or cast into the stalks etc. Thanks
  10. I would like everyone's methods of fishing this specific weed type. Please no post regarding what you have read or anything off topic. Include success rate as well as tackle used to fish around pennywort.
  11. Go to tackle werehouse and look under yamamoto you will find the thin senko. Same thing as a senko just thiner.
  12. The hard part with these questions is no matter what the rule is, somebody is gonna say they experienced something different.
  13. They make a thin senko that might be worth trying.
  14. The experts say that the fade out in darker water so the need for natural colors is less important. Black is good but I also would suggest chartreuse and fire tiger colors. These colors are bright and are easier for the bass to find. Lures with lots of vibration and noise would also be wise to use.
  15. As soon as I feel anything. Also the hook set on a weightless senko is a pull and reel quickly.
  16. 872 is he from paradise?
  17. ? To be or not to be..... what is the meaning of it all? That is the question. ???
  18. Just over 11 lbs on a green pumpkin zoom finesse worm.

I throw tons of fish back lol. Bass around here are not endangered and I harvested her just like a trophy deer! Peoples opinions don't bother me. I care about the species greatly and obey all laws regarding the sport. Replica mounts are not the same. I feel some people forget that LMB are thriving in most waters and the removal of a monster every few years won't hurt anything. Tight lines everyone.
  20. Nice healthy fish guys!
  21. I do like to carry at least a bag of each plastic because if you start getting bit, five plastics can get beat up fast.
  22. I figured some one would have tried it. Worked great kinda yo-yo style.
  23. So I was out fishing on my tube yesterday fishing. I caught a few fish but then the bite just seemed to die. In my boredom an idea hit me! I tied on a 1/4 bitsy flip jig and.... added a wacky senko as a trailer! I cast the jig along some tule stalks and bam! Caught a 13 inch bass. Cast to the same spot several times and caught several fish ranging from 12 and 17 inches! Just wondering if any of you guys have tried this. Sometimes being creative works.
