Lews Reel Comparison
Hey guys I've got a few Lews I need compared. If you can't compare all of them, since it is a lot of reels to compare at one time, then compare a couple you have used, please. I have 4 Lews i need reviews of. Lews Team Gold vs Lews Tourney Pro vs Lews BB1 Pro vs Lews BB2 Pro Wide It will either be going on a Powell Endurance 723 or a Powell Max 704. I need to put the new Lews on one of these and then I have a Curado 200G6 to put on the other. The 723 will be used for spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, jerkbaits and flukes and the 704 will be used for top waters, swim jigs, punching, and just for heavy cover. So... I really need help deciding what reel to buy and what rod to put it on considering the info above^. Another piece of info is I would like the longest handle as possible out of these. Sorry I'm very picky so that why I need help from people with experience with these reels. Thanks guys! I

Loving Big Handles On Reels
Idk what it is but the paddles on the lews reels are just great for me. They are easy to hang onto, and they are something big to grab when you need to engage. I also hate EVA grips like on the Abu Garcia revo stx which I heard people love. I can't stand those. But does anyone know what handle is on the lews tournament mg? I've heard its 90mm and I've also heard 94mm

Loving Big Handles On Reels
Hey guys. I have been thinking lately. I have some kind of love for big winch type handles on reels. I love the longer handle that gives you a good crank. I really like Lews because they seem to have bigger handles vs Abu's reels which are generally the polar opposite. Plus those big ole paddle grips are so nice. I upgraded from a SS1 to a tourney mg and the handle is so much better it's just slightly bigger or so it feels. And now I feel like I need to upgrade to a bb1hz! I held and reeled one at a local tackle store and they feel like they have a bigger handle and it just felt so good. Is anyone else like this? Just loving the bigger handles?

Daiwa Tatula Problems
Hey guys I sent the tatula to get fixed and they sent it back after looking through it and not finding anything, but it still has the clicking sound and scratches. I need to try and fix it on my own. I know how to take it apart. So I just need to know where the problem might be. If anyone has had this problem or has an idea on what it might be. I need it this weekend so I need to try and fix it. All it is is very loud scratchy casts. It's really bad. Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Powell Endurance:my Thoughts
This is probably the worst and most stupid question yall have ever heard but what happens to the warranty on the endurance since they have discontinued them?

New Rod For Jigs
Also I'm not set on 7'3 heavy, I'm set on a rod that a little over 7' and has a good strong action for swim jigs and chatterbaits. I don't really use football or casting jigs

New Rod For Jigs
Well, *** rods are kind of out for me. I snapped about 2-3 guides down on a hook set my first time out with it. It was a 2 pounder too. This was the 6'8 *** black. When I went to get it fixed they told me I had to pay a $50 fee plus shipping there and back. I had got this on the Fourth of July sale at TWH and I got the rod for $85. So I didn't wanna pay just about the same price to fix it as I paid for it originally. Plus I don't really like how thin the *** was. If the other models are different I might give them another shot but I don't think so.

New Rod For Jigs
Hey guys. So I need a new rod for jigs. I'm starting to fish jigs more and I need a rod that I can actually use a jig on. I'd like a 7'3 heavy. But I can't figure out which brand to buy. I don't wanna spend over $200 and I plan on buying a rod and new reel during the tackle warehouse Black Friday sale. I've been looking at the Powells and the St Croix Mojo Bass. I need guides fit for 30-40# braid and something with a good warranty. I have had too many accidents with friends stepping on my rod and slamming it in my front door. So I need a warranty that is fit for accidents lol. And I've heard the St Croix is just that for a $50 fee. But I haven't broken a rod in a while and I am very careful with mine and I don't break rods it's just accidents with my friends. So if you have a suggestion that I'm not listing please let me know. I am open to all suggestions of brands up to about $200. Thanks guys'

Chatterbait/spinnerbait Rod
thought id bring this topic back to life because i love chatterbaits
-
Chatterbait/spinnerbait Rod
I use a 7'6" crankin duckett ghost, the tip feels so moderate, and I seem to miss more fish off of chatterbaits on my 6'9" medium heavy rod than on my 7'6" duckett. Paired it with a Lew's tour mg 6.4.1. I haven't lost a single fish on my Duckett with chatterbaits. It's my chatterbait rod because chatterbaits are so effective for me where I fish. I use flourocarbon or mono because braid seems to rip the hooks out. But a you still need a line with a little less stretch than mono so Id go with flouro

Line For Frog Setup
^ what he said. but as for brand i think power pro is the way to go. i have spider wire right now but i like power pro more.
-
Line For Frog Setup
id recommend 40 or 50# braid. I've got 50# and i like it. i would probably go with 40# because 50# is a bit thick for me but it works

First Baitcaster: Bps Pro Qualifier, Lews Speed Spool, H20 Mettle, Or Pflueger Summit
Speed spools are pretty dang smooth, also magnetic brakes are easier to deal with since its a first baitcaster IMO. i haven't tried the h20 reel but I've heard the h20 xpress line in academy puts out great baits/products. Now the PQ is in my opinion too bulky and too heavy its a great reel otherwise. I think speed spool but it's all your decision

Speed spool hands down

Bps Johnny Morris Carbonlite Casting Rod Breaking And Snapping Issues
I have a bps carbonlite and I have hit it on everything and it hasn't chipped or broken anywhere. I broke an *** black by setting the hook and have done more things to the carbonlite and set the hook harder than I have with the ***. That says something. But what is also great is in a lot Bass Pros, if not all of them, they will take back any of your broken bps rods and replace them anytime. So I will always have a carbonlite just for safety (since I can go down the road to my bass pro if anything happens) and because it's a good to rod.

Daiwa Warranty
Hey guys so I have decided to send my tatula off to get worked on because I can't figure out what's wrong with it. I have some brand new line on it that I don't want to take off. Do I have to take off my line? Also what's every single step I need to do before sending it off? I have already printed the warranty sheet to send off with it. Thanks

Tatula Clicking Sound
Well I checked the bearing in the side plate and it seems fine. I checked the bearing in the tension knob and felt a thick gummy feeling like it had been greased. So I put a drop of lube in it and it seems to be good on a yank of the line but I will try casting it tomorrow morning and see if that did it.
-
Tatula Clicking Sound
So what else can I do to figure out what's wrong with it? What about the pinion gear?
-
Tatula Clicking Sound
Ok so I tried what you said aprw1. And everything is good except I didn't try checking the pinion gear. I don't know much about bait casters except for the basics. So I don't know what a pinion gear is. But jonnyblaze I didnt try the brake drum cuz I don't know where that is either. If y'all could very dumbly point it out for me, that would help. Thanks for the replies so far!

Tatula Clicking Sound
Hey guys. I recently bought a Daiwa Tatula from a trusted guy on eBay. He sent it fast and it came in perfect condition. I put some power pro braid on I and took it out fishing today. Every time I cast it has some loud clicking and it slows the cast down. If you pull the line out you can here it too. Just a forceful pull of the line feeding out, like a cast or yanking the line out fast, makes the clicking sound, not reeling in. I really need to know this as I am going fishing tomorrow and would really like to take it out.
