  1. Hey guys, it's frog time. And I usually use horny toads. But lately I cannot get a good hookup on the horny toads. I feel that the frog is too thick is the center. And the hook cannot penetrate through the frog and the fish's mouth. I missed over 30 blowups. Is there a certain hook or frog that has better hookups for ya'll? I seem to wait long enough for the fish to take the whole frog, and soon enough before he spits it, and I still can't get a good hookup. The gear I'm using is BPS Sig Series Carbonlite 7' 6" Heavy Shimano Chronarch 200E7 Power Pro 65# braid Mustad Ultra Point 4/0 EWG hook Zoom Horny Toad/Stanley Ribbit Frog I am fishing some pretty heavy grass but it doesn't really effect my hookups any.
  2. I know they aren't feeding. I was just asking what's a good bait to mimic the bluegill.
  3. Ok so here in North Florida we are getting a what seems to be an early spawn. The bass seem to be on their beds. What they are doing is chasing away the bluegill and sometimes eating them. We were using craws becuase we thought it was pre-spawn but they would only eat it after about 30-45 min of making them angry. Well I am just wondering what bait to use to mimic bluegill. They are literally 10 feet off of the bank and are going after the bluegill like crazy. They aren't feeding, though. They are in heavy grass and weeds. So any treble hook lures are out of the question. I was thinking a weightless watermelon fluke, but I am just wondering what lures ya'll are using or what you think would work for my problem. Thanks
  4. Got a sig series 2 for $80 plus $15 off from the rod trade in
  5. I held one the other day. They are heavier than the carbonlite but they feel really high quality. The cork on is nice too. If you want something light and don't like cork I'd go with a carbonlite but if you're a cork fan and don't mind a little heavier rod I think the jm sig is a nice rod for you
  6. I have felt them in bass pro and I have to say they feel awesome. The reel is on the large side but its super light. The grips on it are sticky like they feel like an indoor basketball. But it feels really nice and smooth. I like the feel better than the pq and its a lot lighter. I wouldn't say its a new gen pq becuase it feels and looks a lot different but it's possibly going to be replacing them. Not sure because the pq's are there best selling reel. But I like it. Definitely worth looking into.
  7. Ya dicks is a joke went in and they had a sale 75% off all products ending in .93, .43, and .53. They didn't have anything ending in those numbers. I even asked why they had this up and he couldn't respond. Bass pro is slowly becoming this way. But I still have hope that someday they'll bring there prices down. Academy sports is where it's at for me right now. Everything is correctly priced or underpriced. Tons of sales, and their H20 stuff is awesome compared to bass pros XPS. Found a bunch of yum plastics for $0.99 each pack at academy too.
  8. Duckett ghosts are awesome, veritas' are crap IMHO, and idk if the *** black is good or not becuase it snapped on the first fish swinging it in the boat. The fish was a pound btw. My vote goes towards the duckett.
  9. also wanting to know the ad where you saw this
  10. Duckett micro magic. $100 on eBay they are brand new
  11. Hey guys. So I am wondering if this is a good deal. I am getting it for my dad but I'm not familiar with the Duckett rods and Tatula Type R used value. It is from a guy who is really into tourney bass fishing and I've used it and everything is good. So is $210 a good deal for them both? The Tatula is a 6.3:1 and the Micro Magic is a 7'3 not sure if that matters. Let me know thanks. I think it's a good deal based on retail but not sure how much they usually go for online. Thanks again!
  12. Same here. Chatterbaits on a slightly windy day, sun not showing, looks like it's about to pour, that's the most effective time for me.
  13. They are my trust lure. Used craws, lipless cranks, square bills, worms, spinnerbaits, and flukes with no luck. Ten minutes with a chatterbait and I caught this nice bass I love chatterbaits. Zman is horrible quality but they are the most effective for me. D&M is more high quality but don't produce as much.
  14. Hey guys. So I'm getting into kayak fishing and I would like to start filming. I just got an iPhone 6 and the camera isn't actually all that bad. I lost my camera and my iPhone is a good substitute. I am wanting to know if there is a mount that exists, that will hold my iPhone securely down. There is a flat little console in front of you on this kayak. It's the Old Town Vapor 10. And the tray is perfect for a camera mount. I am just looking for some pointers on how to make/where to buy a good phone mount for filming. Thanks guys.
  15. Powell Max for $120, and my Powell Endurance that i just bought tonight from TWH for $110
  16. I use a 7 foot medium fast or 7 foot medium heavy fast rod. The medium for my worms, and the medium heavy for an all around texas rigs.
  17. Fished if today. Everything is good. It's going on my flipping pitching frog rod
  18. My curado 200g6 with my powell max 704 use it for jigs. I got it recently and I thought to myself on the first cast that it's my favorite
  19. I have basically given up on BPS. Everything is over priced, and they are slow to restock instore. Not just my Bass Pro. And they are starting to look like a department store. It's making me upset when I see bass tourneys sponsored by BPS now :/
  20. I own a powell max 704 and it's great for jigs. Has a soft tip which I like for jigs, I also use it for frogging
  21. When does the Black Friday sale start at TWH
  22. What the title says. What's the best store/best deals? What have been your best Black Friday pick ups and where? Just curious so that I can make good decisions on where to buy. I have pretty much given up online purchasing right now (except for the occasional TWH order), because of my experiences.
  23. The Chatterbaits i fish are pretty big. Can weight up to about 3/4 oz to 1oz. So Ya weight is pretty big. And I fish 3/8 and 1/2 spinnerbaits. I've heard bb1 pros are good for heavier baits. What about the gold or bb2 pro wide?
