  1. I use an SX for pitching/punching works great. Even handled a decent sized pike no problem.
  2. St.croix mojo Slop-n-frog can be had for less than $100. I got one & love it.
  3. I believe my first spincast was my dad's old bronson from when he was a kid. But it didnt take me long to start using his Mitchell 300's i thought those old ones looked awsome,so I'd play with them in the back yard and taught myself to cast.
  4. Baby wipes work really well. It sounds weird but they actually work really well not just cork grips but guitars too.
  5. Minnows are great when fishing with kids my son always gets the biggest fish with them when we go with my dad. But that's the only time we use em 3-4 year old's will lose interest fast if they're not catching fish.
  6. The knobs on the smoke are removable but have no idea if they will fit a lew's.
  7. Skippy Jig or The Crook
  8. Seen SLAYER! about 30 times in the last 20 years & they never dissapoint always full on thrash & energy. R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman
  9. The tube amp building monkey has got me good. I love recreating vintage marshalls. Have a jcm 800 in the works & already got most of what i need for a jtm 45 not done with the jcm but i need to have the parts. Finding vintage nos parts like tubes & resistors is fun and the build is very relaxing. But in the end you save a grand or 2 doing it yourself. Nothing quite like a Les Paul threw a cranked Marshall.
  10. I have the same reel you just pop out the little black plastic piece & put it in the other side.
  11. I myself prefer suffix 832 but I was impressed with stren as well.
  12. I had the same problem with power pro regular & the slick 8. I think it just has really bad abrasion resistance or I bought a few bad batches, maybe you got some of the same run I did, not really sure what was going on, but ever since I switched to suffix I've not had that problem since.
  13. I use the j-knot & the Seguar & never had one fail. They both work real well for me. Personally don't like the Alberto.
  14. Ha funny stuff.
  15. Had a quantum on an Abu veritas rod, had to return the rod twice for a break now the quantum's on a st.Croix. Have never had a problem with my quantum reel.
  16. I remember bassmaster had an ad in their magazines last year that showed the evolution of the curado first to newest.
  17. I've been using the Ardent Reel Clean. It works great for degreasing.
  18. Double Palomar yet to have one fail.
  19. Call customer service. I bought a jig that was missing its rattle, they had me send it back. Two weeks later I had a 6 pack of jigs & a new hat, not a bad deal.
  20. Can't go wrong with the suffix 832 or performance braids. I made the switch & don't know why I ever used anything else.
  21. Okuma makes some good spinning reels. I have one of the cheaper models & it has never let me down. Its about 3 years old & still going strong.
  22. Not sure where ya live but all 4 dick's near me carry them.
  23. Cotton Cordell super spot in the citrus shad color always catch a few on it.
  24. I had the 7'2" sellus & really liked the way it handled I just didn't care for the grip it was slippery for me but a great rod none the less. So I returned it & was able to fenangle a veritas for $51. That was at Dick's.
