Well finally set in living room with battery and your correct there are way more lakes than I thought. Of course a lot of them are unfortunately lakes I don't go to much. Really looking forward to mapping the ones out I do go to with the quick draw. So far the maps look awesome can't wait to hit the water now.

I would say your correct in it being a spot, but I agree it does look strange.

Hope it's as good as all the hype. I just bought a 73cv for my kayak. I'll be testing it out in 2 weeks. My first depth finder too, so prob only thing I'll have figured out after a 5 day trip is water temp.? Can't wait to create new maps with the scanning feature since out of the 17000 lakes there's only like 2 lakes in Kansas that are loaded. I fish a lot of smaller lakes and I think this thing will be a game changer for myself honestly.

Taking a trip in 2 weeks to Big Hill reservoir. I'll be staying one night and fishing from the yak. Anyone on here been there? If so could you tell me where I should dedicate more time than not....since I'm in the yak it's going to be difficult to cover the lake in one day. 3weeks following big hill I'm headed to Lake of The Arbuckles and looking for same kind of information. I'll be camping it out for 3-4 days, so I'll have more time on the water but 2500 acres is a lot of territory to cover still. Just looking for lake location information. Any info would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Fished it once last year. I fished it late summer. I had most luck with lipless crank chrome in color thinking might be a much more slower presentation for current water conditions. The lake is small and both legs produced for me. If I remember it's a very rocky lake....o and there's bronze backs in there too which was a bonus for me.

I might just go ahead and pull the trigger on the 93sv looks like its $770 new from Garmin with my discount. Little more than I was going to spend but I really like how I can scan some of the local smaller lakes around Wichita that I hit the most. So the map series gives me depths of lake beds? Is there a site I can check and see what lake maps they have available? If I had to guess they might not have lakes that I visit often. Like to see which lake maps they have.

Ok guys I been beating the bank for 2 years now. I get 30+% off garmin through my employer and looking at garmin exclusive just because of the deals I can get. I've never used a fish finder in my life they look complicated trying to figure out that a blob is a school of bass or a weed bed or log structure. So I was looking at the striker 7sv for my 18' ranger boat. Is this a decent fish finder for me to learn on or is there a better model garmin makes. I might get 3 of them. One for bow, console, and my yak. Any info on the garmin stuff would be greatly appreciated. I live in southern Kansas so Kansas and Oklahoma waters is where I'll be using these electronics 90% of the time. Thanks p

There's bass in Watson, but haven't fished it this year. Most of the little local ponds around town have bass.

Of course now I want to go to Milford as well...lol I took advice last year off here in search of catching a bigger PB than my local Wichita area had given me and I broke my PB 3 times that weekend. Speaking of I will definitely be going back to bone creek(suggested lake) that place was amazing! Not giving up on catching some smallmouth though.....Ill try Melvern again and after I put a couple in the boat maybe Ill give Milford a try.

Thats a darn nice bass to break that 6 year dry spell and one heck of a big ol Crappie!

Thanks for the info guys! Eldorado is the closest lake to me. Melvern is about 20 minutes closer than Milford, but my goal being fairly new to fishing is to get out to as many lakes as much as possible this year. I subscribed to your channel bluebasser86 you got some great videos just hammering bass....like to eventually be able to have productive days on the water like yourself. This forum is amazing and eventually with time on the water and great info from guys here on the forum I'll be becoming a better fisherman in no time. Thanks again for the tips!

So I went up to Melvern Sunday first hour wasn't too bad then winds picked up to 40+ mph. Made fishing impossible, it wasn't a complete waste though we caught 6 white bass and I got to scope the lake out and it's huge compared too lakes I fish around Wichita. So where is a good place to start searching for smalls at Melvern? I plan on going back up again soon so any locations on the lake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey forum friends looking for best lake option close to Wichita. I have only caught one in my life looking to target them a few times this year. Wilson, Melvern, Milford? I'm only 30 min from Oklahoma too. Most of these lakes I listed are a 2-3hr drive. Well worth it though.

What's your channel....I'll subscribe! Finding Kansas fishing videos can be challenging. Love to see what kind of fish are out there. O and money is why guys do it. It's good marketing for the company's that make all the equipment we use to catch fish. Plus what better person to promote but a regular average joe who loves fishing and just started YouTube for fun, but then it turned into something more.

Derby High Park caught 3 this morning north of the bridge on west side. Using purple buzz bait was hesitant with topwater, but it worked out. Didn't fish the shallow south side I walked across it 4 months ago. Best bet IMO is north end.
