  1. I've never done this but Dave is right. A through wire harness is the best for balsa type baits.

Awesome baits. Those chartreuse baits have smallie written all over them.
  3. Those are sweet!!
  4. My guess is the nickel has probably a clear finish, therefore the paint has nothing to stick to. If you take some steel wool or sandpaper and really rough up the surfaces then primer them with some metal primer, the paint you're using should stick.
  5. Thanks for the info on the netting. I too use the clothes pins but have gone a step further. Since the pins are all the same width, I've used my belt sander to narrow the jaws just above the spring and they work great. Some are a 1/4" wide up to the normal width of the pin.

Those are some nice looking jigs. I especially like the copper craw and the natural craw. Did I say I like the craw baits??
  11. Thanks to Whittler, I got the PVC bug. So here is a few plus where I've been able to get away from the world. My little shop in the back yard. I forgot to add a picture, it's the side that carries the finished baits and not so good baits, plus some spinnerbaits etc.

This took too long to post but I finally got around to finishing it. I guess I like the trout pattern. It swims great and dives around 6 to 8 feet and "wakes" just great.

A nice sharp Exacto knife works well for PVC. You must be very careful (ouch) not to "whittle" yourself.
  14. If you can find onions in a mesh bag, that works well too.
  15. Those are some great looking jigs, but I might add, I sure like the looks of that smallie in your avatar...wow.
  16. If you could draw a picture of what you're talking about it may be much clearer. It's always said "A picture is worth a thousand words."

    Dwain, nothing but killer. WOW.
  21. There is Largemouth and Smallmouth in the lake along with trout and many other species of fish.
  22. Awesome bait. Nice coloring; what material did you use for the tail?
  23. Falcon, you took the words right out of my mouth......
  24. We can't forget about Forbidden Planet.
  25. The wives do not understand our passion for making our own lures, worms, jigs and etc. I just wish mine would learn how to make shoes and handbags. She's go a ton of those things......and that's when the fight started. J/K . Good luck on the plastics, the reward will be on the end of the line pulling back!!
