Worth it buying life time Fishing License?
Here in PA, you cannot purchase a lifetime license until you are 60 (or 65, I'd have to double check). However, they do offer multi year licenses (1, 3, 5, 10), which is nice. I personally always buy the 3 year license. I do this because it saves me the hassle of having to go into a shop just to buy a license every spring, and it saves me a couple dollars overall.

Show off your Stuff
I got her back from DVT and put the rest of her dress up parts on. Now she just needs spooled and she's ready to go.

Buying binge how do you control it?
Go in your wifes closet and count all her shoes, purses and dresses. From there, determine who has the spending problem.

Spawning Crappie Tips?
Around here you're going to get out fished 10:1 if you're not using live minnows, but to each his own. Being in a kayak could make transporting live bait difficult, so I understand that aspect. We generally catch them in the downed trees, stumps, and old root systems using fathead minnow's on 1/8oz. jigs.

Vision 110 for smallies?
Throw both sizes and see what works best for you. I've seen smallmouth bite on the Pointer 128's, so it's really a matter of what the fish want to bite on.

Is a Berkley Lighting Shock Rod for throwing cranks crazy?
A Zillion on a Lightning Rod?! I imagine that rod is going to feel a lot like Julia Roberts did in Pretty Woman with a reel like that on it.

Latest Catch Pics Thread
First 4 pounder of the year. I was reeling in a small bass and this fish came out from under a dock and swiped at the fish I was fighting. I landed the small fish, released it, and tied on a LC 1.5 and swam it right beside the dock. Bam!

Looking at two crankbait rods.
The 765CB is a great cranking rod and I use mine for all the time for DT10-14-16's. I also own the 705CB which works well for DT10's, but I would prefer the extra length of the 765CB for using a DT16. I also own the Avid 7' H-Moderate cranking rod, and my tournament partner owns the LTB Big Cranker that you mention. So I have used the comparable St. Croix models to the Champion. In the end, both are great rods, but I much prefer the Dobyns cranking rods over the St. Croix.

Sunline FX2
It's a 4 carrier braid, and it acts as such. Hence why they market it for flipping and frogging.

Crankbait Rod Suggestions
A 6xd and a 10xd are most likely going to require a different rod. As for the material, a simple search on here or the Google machine will give you dozens of articles on the benefits of different rod materials. I recommend looking at the Dobyns Champion line. Primarily the 736CB glass, 805CB, or 806CB.

Metanium MGL constantly backlashing
The thing with fluorocarbon and mono is that it has a shelf life. It may look fine, but after a while it can get really bad memory and will give you all sorts of issues. The problem with buying from big box stores like a Wal-Mart, DSG, etc. is that you don't know how long that spool sat there on the shelf. It may look fine, but that line could be 5 years old. I use fluorocarbon on almost all my setups these days, but I buy my line from places that I know are constantly turning over stock and getting in fresh stock. Because of this, I have never really had any issues while using fluorocarbon.

Metanium MGL constantly backlashing
Not that having DVT go through it is a bad idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if this is an issue related to that Red Label fluorocarbon. Every time I've tried that stuff it's been nothing but nightmares.
