left hander-LH or RH baitcaster reel?
Im an enigma when it comes to this like most who have chimed in I use LH reels, always have. However I am ambidextrous I write, throw a ball, cast, righty. I bat and play hockey lefty, go figure. I like to have the rod in the hand I have the most strength in, which means I reel lefty. When I first started there were hardly any bait casters made for leftys Shimano had some as well as Quantum.

What does your name (Handle) mean?
Pa1n is my online video game handle. Back in teh day Quake 3 Arena friends would say it was a "Pain" to play against me. I just sub in the "1" for "i" because that handle is always taken.

Whats your opinion on lead?
Its not healthy to be around, period. Keeping it out of the country's waters is a good thing. There are other alternatives to lead. I think tungsten is going to replace lead in the future. Its more dense and is more sensitive as well. Yes, there is a cost difference. However if its going to cost me an extra $5 for worm weights but keeping lead out of the waters Im fine with it. If it is too much of a burden, then I'll sell my $400-500 reel and rod combos. ;D ;D

2010 NFL predictions
Patriots fan here, well I will hope for +10 wins. I think they will be lucky to get 9. The AFC East is going to be a hard fought div with the new improved Jets and Dolphins, and the Patriots losing allot of ground on the defensive side of the ball, so Patriots 9-7 is my pick.

Lead and the EPA
The NH law seems to be a pretty good compromise. Banning weights that are easily ingested by other animals but allowing lures that contain lead and do not pose the same risk. However, there's a big difference between banning just the weight and banning ALL lead. True tyrius, maybe some day it will come to banning all lead. I think that NH has a pretty fair law for both sides. Therefor I dont have a problem with it, and I think its pretty reasonable. :)

Lead and the EPA
As I posted in another thread about this, NH has banned certain lead fishing weights in all of NH waters for some time 5 yrs or so. The loons were ingesting the weights thinking they were pebbles to aid in digestion and were dieing of lead poisoning at a pretty alarming rate. Here is the NH lead ban law taken from the NHF&G website. Has this crippled the fishing in NH? No, of course not. Granted one 1/4oz sinker you lose isn't going to harm the lake. However if you take all the fishermen that fish a lake over the course of a season you can see those numbers can have the opportunity to greatly increase the amount of lead that could possibly end up on the bottom of the lake. I think we can all agree that lead isn't the safest thing to be in contact with. I personally don't have a problem doing my part to make sure I don't contribute to the problem and I follow the laws here in NH. I have already switched over to non lead bullet sinkers long ago. Keep the waters as clean and safe as possible for future generations. I dont really see a problem with that, but just my 2 cents. : : :

Another Rant...
NateFollmer, I hear you there. I have the same kinda plans except my work just offers it, they don't help with the cost. I didn't have Health Ins for 2-3 yrs. However I picked it up about 5-6 yrs ago. Last yr I had to have emergency surgery, yes I'm still paying off the deductibles. My bills for hospital stay and surgery without ins would have topped $23k. That would have easily financially crippled me. Even though I hate paying the premiums for such crappy coverage in those instances you still need it. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. >

Another Rant...
Well I just got my new Health Insurance quotes for the new year. Well as I suspected, I'm going to be shopping for a new plan. My new plans monthly premiums are going up $95 a month, topping out at a hefty $515 a month. That isn't for a family plan either. I work for a real small company of 2 employees. It wont be to long until I cant afford Health Insurance if this is the type of increases that are going to become the norm.

Favorite Pizza Company
I voted for I just like Pizza. I try and stay away from the big chains as much as possible. Their product is usually a weak facsimile of pizza anyway. Granted I havent tried any of the major chains in awhile because I think the local places do a better job. Just my 2 cents...

Bats
Alarming that in a few years researchers are predicting an extinction of the common brown bat in the northeast. Either way you feel about the environment and how it should or should not be handled this is pretty alarming. Read more here.

Kinda sad in a way...
Its sad in a way to see such a long standing tradition go by the way side. It also makes you think if more of these local farms go under, does the quintessential American family farm life still exist. Find the whole story here.
