  1. Hi all, If you guys carry more then 2 rods when walking the banks, is there any special way you carry them? Sometimes some back packs can hold one while you carry the other. Just wondering if there a efficient way if you carry 3. Thanks in advance!
  2. In case you have any problems, like motor stalling, Is there anyway they can help you?
  3. Is there a road map they give you so you know where to go? What areas would you recommend going through?
  4. Hi all, I don't have a boat so I was wondering are there places to fish the bank at lake okeechobee? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  5. Hi all! The holidays are coming around in S. Florida and I was thinking of rental a Jon Boat in Holiday Park to fish. I never driven a boat since I have mostly been a bank fisherman. Any tips would be appreciated. Any concerns should I have besides the gators? =P I already complete the boaters safety educational course if that's one of the things I need to be concerned about. Thanks in advance!
  6. Hi all, I was frog fishing on some heavily clumped lilypads. In an hour or two the wind picked up to about 15 mph. My question for you guys is, when it's windy, can you still get a bite on a frog? If you can, what changes would you have to do to account for the strong winds? Thanks in advance!
  7. How much would it cost to pitch in? I mostly just bank fish. The only time I was on a bass boat when I went with a guide. Just curious..
  8. Hi all, I was trying to setup a poll but after I set it up, I am not sure how to get it to insert into the topic. Any tips or a link I can follow to see how to? I tried to look it up but can't find it or I am not typing the right search text. Thanks in advance!

    Hi all, Was doing some frog fishing this morning and my frog decided to leave me lol. I was doing an overhead cast and the braid knotted on the spool. All I saw was my frog Bomb out to the Lily pads. Any one has a solution to this? Should I avoid trying to whip it out there! Any advise is appreciated as I am still learning to frog. At least I got one fish on. The frog before it was gone lol
  13. Nice! Good to hear some good feedback. I kept wondering if I made the right choice since Shimano only has the 1 year warranty on it. I guess only time will tell. ^^;
  14. I may try the Avid next time depending on how the Zodius does. Good point though about the height, will stay in open areas for now
  15. Thanks all for the input.I decided on a Shimano Zodius Heavy. I pulled the trigger before I saw Lou's post ^^;; The bait monkey strikes again. I hope it turns out to be a good rod *crosses fingers*
  16. Hi all, I currently use a 6 ft Berkley Lighting Shock Series Trigger Rod for my frogging rod. I was thinking of upgrading the rod in the price range of $100-$200. Any recommendations? I usually fish heavy lily pad areas (Tropical Park for those who live in Miami). Other details: Bait: mostly Hallow Body Frogs Fishing Location: From the bank Current Reel: Shimano CI4 Bait Caster 7:6 Ratio My other option would be to just upgrade my current rod to a 7ft Any advice is welcome. Thanks all!
  17. Thanks all, all good points. Just like bass fishing, many factors go into figuring out trying to get the ultimate goal of getting that bite. That why we are happier when we do since its not an easy thing all the time.
  18. It was weedy but they were in a pocket in between. I tried to give it time but they wouldn't bite. They disappeared into the murky water is when I gave up. They looked at the lure but that's just about it. May be one of those times when they just don't like what you show them lol
  19. Hi all, Was fishing the C-9 canal this morning and. I could see some peacock bass one foot away from me. I had a rapala xrap on a spinning combo. I tried a slow and fast cadence but couldn't get them to bite. This was around 9:30am in the morning. Is there something else I could have done? Thanks in advance!
  20. Hi all, Since XCalibur has changed to Booyah, has anyone gotten a hold of the Booyah lipless cranks to compare if there is a difference? I hope the quality stays the same but haven't seen the new ones to compare. Thanks in advance!
  21. LOL the shopping carts , ac units statement cracked me up, too bad its true!
  22. Hi all, I was fishing the snake creek canal this morning and caught a nice 2.5 lb peacock on a top water popper. I was just walking up and down the bank casting parallel until something would hit. My question is for those the canal fish often, what's the most efficient way to fish the canals while bank fishing? Do you go with baits/lures that cover a lot of water fast or go with a soft baits? I just wondered this because a good chunk of the canal I fished this morning had no activity. Thanks in advance!
  23. I still feel bad loosing the lure but thats part of fishing I have to accept lol If you ever want to fish in a park feel free to pm me ^^ Always fun to share notes on locations
