  1. I buy mine from amazon in bulk too.
  2. Either a Tatula or citica. Not a big fan of Abu Garcia despite my wife liking her Orro Winch for cranking.
  3. I mostly use a combo of upper end G. Loomis, Megabass, and Dobyns. I have a TCS Mat Daddy 7'11" and enjoy flipping and punching with it. Gets the job done and the sensitivity is pretty good for a Rod that is less than $150.
  4. Tatula Type R. Great workhorse reel. It can do it all. Plus the price is nice. It'smy backup frog reel behind my exsence dc.
  5. I own a 765 flip, but I only use it for swim jigs. I pitch and flip with a 746 dx and a megabass black jungle Super Red Demon.
  6. I use a dobyns 735c in the champion xp line. Great frog rod.
  7. I use 7:1 gear ratio or higher for almost everything. The only times I use a lower gear is finesse fishing (6:1) and deep cranking (5:1 or low 6:1). I saw a video where Aaron Martens uses only 8:1 ratio for everything.
  8. Is it chartreuse sexy shad? I saw some on cabelas website. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Strike-King-KVD-Series-Crankbait/1420657.uts?productVariantId=4427083&WT.tsrc=PPC&WT.mc_id=GoogleProductAds&WT.z_mc_id1=04324088&rid=20&gclid=CjwKEAiAq8bEBRDuuOuyspf5oyMSJAAcsEyWLDFVmQJnGKfm8wyo7h5xhcYhqXaPHWWm9XWnGnHwkxoC7ijw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
  9. Anyone know if the 10 inch black with blue tail worms still come in bulk packs? I have seen the 10 inch in green pumpkin in the bulk pack, but no luck with black and blue.
  10. I use a dobyns champion 735c. Great frog rod. Mine is paired with a Shimano Exsence DC.
  11. I use a shimano exsence dc for my frog reel. It's pricey, but an awesome reel. My frog rod is a dobyns champion 735. The ideal frog reel should be a high gear ratio reel with a good drag. You want a heavy rod to muscle the bass out of the slop, unless you are fishing the frog in open water. Then you can get away with a lighter power rod.
  12. Okuma TCS rods can be found on Amazon for around 100 to 120 bucks. I actually mostly mostly dobyns, megabass, and g. Loomis, but i have the TCS mat daddy and it is a great rod. Dobyns Fury line has some good rods.
  13. BPS Pro Qualifier is a good start. That was my first baitcaster. Daiwa Tatula is a grear reel for the price point as well. How much are you looking to spend?
  14. The seller on ebay only had $50 of insurance on the package, so that is all USPS will refund despite their negligence. The seller told me he had insurance, but failed to realize that if you don't pay for extra insurance normal priority mail only covers $50. He thought they covered the entire amount of what was paid for the rod. Ebay has a money back guarantee if you file a complaint and the seller and you cannot come to terms. So far, me and the seller aren't seeing eye to eye. The seller has 48 hours to help resolve the issue. If nothing happens, then ebay stips in.
  15. I actually just ordered another one, this time from the Tackle Trap. I am waiting for ebay to settle the dispute on my rod that broke.
  16. Yeah. He insured it. Said the tube was not broken prior to shipping.
  17. I have both. What applications are you looking to use them for? The Metanium is a good all around reel that does everything well. I like my steez for pitching, flipping, bottom contact stuff.
  18. Ordered a Megabass Black Jungle PV from that big auction site and it arrived in 2 pieces. Rod and tube broken in half. 1st time this has happened to me. I'm going to give USPS an ear full when they open back up from lunch.
  19. 1. Catch another double digit largemouth 2. Buy my 1st bass boat 3. Fish more 4. Work on finesse fishing. I have never really had to use much finesse techniques 5. Get better at punching thick mats 6. Learn to skip docks better 7. Help my dad catch a new PB. I am taking him to El Salto with me so he has a good chance to do it. His PB is only 5 lbs. 8. Fish rivers more
  20. I mainly use Daiwa and Shimano reels. Other than that, I have 1 okuma reel. As for rods, I mostly use 3 brands: Dobyns, G. Loomis, and Megabass. I have a few other rods sprinkled in, but only a few. Lures I don't have as much brand loyalty. I do prefer Megabass, Lucky Craft, Strike King, Gare Yamamoto, Zoom, Rapala, Reaction Innovations, Keitech, Dirty Jigs.
  21. I haven't had any with the 795, only the 765.
  22. Berkley powerbait 10 inch power worm black with a blue tail T-Rigged. I am pretty sure I lost what would have been my new PB on a dirty jigs 3/4 oz swim jig with a RI skinny dipper in white trash. Reel locked up and I couldn't even turn the handle. The fish was ripping line and then pop, he's gone.
  23. I use keitechs and RI dippers in multiple different sizes. Been meaning to pick up some Gamblers to try them out.
  24. I would look into some swimbaits in varying sizes, soft and hard ones. Maybe a whopper plopper. Some kind of wake bait, bbz-1 rat is a good entry one. A range of different colors, sizes, and types of plastics (T-Rigs, trailers). Maybe some Shakey head gear and ned rig gear.
