  1. I have Two Bantams.. kinda heavy for me. I make a lot of casts. I’m 63 now so the weight matters.. old injuries! sucks! lol
  2. Most important for me is casting distance, light weight, 20# drag, best gears. Is there a Steez that offers all?
  3. Recently bought a JDM Steez, incredible reel. I want info on a couple reels for Jig, Frog and Toad fishing. Has to be JDM.. line will be 65# power pro for pitching as well as bomb casting. Would that be the Zillion or? Obviously I don’t know their reels yet. looking for quick advice so I can just buy them. I’ll learn the line up later on.
  4. I’ll contact them tomorrow. I think their boats have the padded bottom and rear stepped transom. Am I correct?
  5. I’ll checkout the Lund & Express again online.. Prices for aluminum boats have gone sky high. I think the Ranger which I will not consider is 40k. What about the G3? Are they still solid? I know they were popular some time back..
  6. I’m ready for a new boat. I know what I want for finders and a trolling motor. I need information about the boats out there these days. My budget is 25k-30k. I’ve only seen YouTube videos so far. No boats around to look at. I have a tracker now, want to get better. Thanks in advance..
  7. Mike, You’ve had that Abu reel for a year. You’ve told me you were shipping the reel. I paid you. Still no reel. Why are you screwing me over? I’ve emailed you more than once, no reply. Wayne in RI
  8. I've had the motor Up 1.5" and at level. Batteries are up front. If I'm alone in the boat I get a fair to good hole shot. If I have another with me they have to sit up front or th boat will not plane. I'm very disappointed with the boat and what I was told by the sales and service employee's at Bass Pro Shop where I bought it. I was told I had to have a long shaft. That meant having to add the Jack plate to get the motor up high enough. The transom is 18". I'm going with a steering console so They should have recomended the short 15" which from the clamp to the cavitaion plate is only a1/2" above the keel. Most are 17.5 the longs are closer to 22". Apparently like with most things these days. We have to do our reseach and not rely on sales or service people. Bottom line is the bad information is going to cost me about $1000.00-$1500.00 in money lost. Not to mention all the props I had to buy to try based on uninformed suggestions. The Grizzly 1448 at capacity is 1350 pounds. It truly requires a 30 HP motor with a short shaft and trim and tilt. That's what I'll be buying for it. Have to sell a new Suzuki 20 HP motor with 4-5 hours on it.
  9. I have the motor on a TH mini plate. back 3 up 1.5” above the keel. prop is a 9.25x9 OEM. Hole shots are slow, can’t get enough lift at the rear, the bow won’t turn over. It’s up about 6” to much. Does anyone have a similar 1448 setup that can offer me some solid information so I can dial in the performance? Thanks
  10. Just a shout out to Mike at Delaware Tackle. Sent him two Lews Team reels. both had loud breaks and were in need of service. Mike sent them back to me all cleaned and ready to go. I hit the water yesterday with both reels and I’ll tell ya. No more noise, the casting was smoother than I expected. Kudo’s Mike. Outstanding!
  11. So I get the rod a good workout. The more I casted the better it felt. I could easily bomb cast but more importantly I could hit spots I wanted to. Although it is a rod with a boat load of back bone there’s a tip that makes this rod fantastic for me. Another finding was the overall length. It’s like 7’6” with a shorter handle. For me this is an asset. Long handles force me to keep the rod out more than I’m comfortable with. As far as quality goes this Rod is very well made. The cork is excellent as are the guides. I’m considering the 4 and the 5 now.
  12. Well I’m going to cast some toads, frogs and jigs with it tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll like the rod more than I do now. It’s does feel better in the hand with the reel on it. I’ve done the simple tip test. It is softer than a few of my other rods, which I like. I know the rod has a load of back bone for big hook sets in heavy cover so that’s a positive. I’ll post my experience with the rod tomorrow night.
  13. I bought a 746 yesterday. The one thing I don’t like about Dobyns is their short reel seat. I have no idea why they insist on it. I put a Chonarch on it. Was only able to get two threads. Had to put my Lews tourney pro G on it. The shorter legs allowed for 3/4 of the threads. I’m thinking I should have looked at the Shimano or IMX Pro. The 746 is a bit heavier than I expected. I’m definitely doubting my decision to buy it.
  14. One more question. There’s the newer 2020 Mat.. I found the earlier version for $100.00 less. Is the 2020 worth the additional $100.00. difference is basically the frame and gear material. It’s seems to me it’s just a slight weight reduction. Not a big issue for me. Your thoughts?
  15. I’ve sold off most of my Lews reels. Last year late summer I bought a Bantam and a Chronarch. Game over.. I have 7 MiJs and one SLX MiM. I want a couple of the Mets. I need info from others who have them before I buy. Chronarchs are hard to beat.
  16. Is the reel similar in size and feel of the K, Chonarch or?
  17. What is the size and shape difference between the Metanium MGL 151 and the Chronach? I have 3 Chonarch MGL reels. Looking at buying a couple Mets.
  18. I want to know if they’re worth the additional money over a plus?
  19. Is the UHD worth the extra money? I’m looking at buying the 7” or 9” Garmin with Maps, Down Scan and Sonar. Quite higher for the UHD. Is there a recommendation for the transducer for each series? Thanks
  20. Where did you buy the brass gears for the Met? I’m considering buying 2 of them. I’ll definitely want the upgrade. Thanks for the information.
  21. Bantam.. my mistake. Brain fart! love the reel.. Opps! I suppose it was my error. Not sure if it was a missed spell check. Thanks for letting me know. or no.. take your pick! lol
  22. That’s how mine is set. The reel can do it all.. serious quality.
  23. I have a K and an SLX MGL. the SLX has a better fit and finish and It’s definitely a smaller reel. Prefer the SLX. I bought 2 Chronarch MGLs. It’s tough to use the K after casting MGL reels. I sold one K, The other will be sold as well. Now I want 2 Metanium MGLs and another Bandit.
  24. You’re welcome. Let us know if you pull the trigger. I like the reel overall. I was disappointed in the play in the handle/drag assembly. It’s like my Lews reels. I have 2 of them I bought about 8 weeks ago. After buying the Bandit and Chronarch MGLs I’m spoiled.
  25. The weather has been lousy here so I haven’t used the reel yet. Hopefully tomorrow or Sunday we’ll get some Sun and less wind. I’m going to put 30# braid on it and do some pitching. I’ll post feedback. Im building my Shimano reel arsenal. I’m thinking 8 reels. Most will be the Chronarch MGLs. I do want one more Bandit. The 8 will go well with my 7. They are well balanced on the rod. Again I agree with you. You know these reels inside and out.
