New Lews Super Duty G
I bought two of these reels to replace my older bigger Tourney Pro’s. Big mistake as of now. I do a lot of bomb casting with a gambler toad. The G reels backlash a lot. No matter what setting I’ve changed it effects another. Especially the drag which is why I bought them. It’s 20#.. in the junk I fish in the 20# drag matters. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the reel?

50 Or 65 Pound Braid For Froggin?
I'm big on fishing heavy cover with Frogs, Toads and EZ Swimmers. I use 65# Power Pro. For me it's not so much about line strength but more line diameter. The thinner line, even 50 will dig down they its wind. Not cool on your next cast. The 50 may cast a bit further but I find I can sky them out far enough with 65. The other thing I like about the 65 is it's less effected by wind. It's easier to cast a curve with it to hit your target. i use Lews Tourney Pros and an MG. Both very nice reels. All have 95mm handles. My rods are a Lews custom lite Magnum grass, Lews Magnum zone custom speed stick, Abu Villian 76-6 and fit lighter cover an Abu 70-6. Hope this helps you.

Punching rod.
Lews Speed Stick Magnum One 7' the rod is a monster. Forget the weight ratings on the rod... it's a hook setting stick with serious power.

anyone use a president baitcaster?
No but I'd like to try the First Lady spinning reel !

Lew's Vs. Daiwa Tatula
I think Diawa is a great company but when it comes to reels I'm not a fan. Lews has been my favorite and I'm not looking at any other now or later. i suppose I've reached a point where I know what I like, I'm happy with them and I'm not chasing. The bait monkey has left the boat!

Someone convince me I should be using FC over Trilene XL
I'm not a fan of either line. I like the P-Line CX. Give it a try. note: I do note use spinning reels.

Fast or Extra Fast tip for hollow body Frog/Sunfish rod?
Take a look at a few more.. you have time.. I've been told the Scott Martin Okuma rods are very good. I'm always fishing heavy cover with Jigs, toads and frogs. I use a Lews Custom Lite Magnum Grass, Abu Garcia 7'6" Villian and a 7' Villian. Ill be back out in the water in a couple more weeks. It's about time. Winter sucks.

7' Medium/Heavy Rod $125 Budget
The Abu Garcia IKE Signature Power rod series 7.0-5 is an amazingly good rod. So comfortable, cast great, very good hook set Power, its light and extremely versatile. I highly recommend at least looking at one. The fit and finish of the rod is outstanding! I always have it in my arsenal.

Canoe Upgrades
- Do you collect old rods and reels
I have a golden oldie, the casting reel is built into the rod. Slick little design. I'm not sure of the brand. Maybe someone on here can tell me. I'll post a pic soon. What do you have?- Can be deleted
A bent guide would drive me nuts......- Best Bang for $ Fluorocarbon
Try P-Line CX- Big spooled spinning reels?
My brother has 4 Abu Garcia SX reels. The 30/35? Is a hell of a reel.- Bottom contact, sensitivity rod recommendations
That rod for $100.00 is a score.. wish they offered it with an ACS reel seat.- 832
Sink.. hell i'm in the heavy stuff most of the time with Jigs, toads and frogs etc... what I can tell you from experience is Power Pro casts better and doesn't lose it's color like 832 and it's a lot tougher braid. I have one reel with 832 that I generally use for lipless, spinner baits and square bills. 832 gets very limpy and wind knots easily.- Straight Braid or Braid to fluoro
I don't use leaders at all any more. It's either Braid or P-line CX on my reels. P-Line for open very clear water or a particular type bait whether it be hard or soft in any water. When I'm in mildly or darker stained water or heavy cover looking for lunkers it's strait braid.- Bottom contact, sensitivity rod recommendations
Look for a dragging or Jig rod. Falcon offers a nice dragger. i prefer the Lews Custom Lite Magnum Grass. Very versatile. You have a lot of great rods to choose from.. it's not easy to decide.- Anyone like Powell Rods?
I've tried the 3D's and they are very nice.. I just don't like the minimal reel seat. If they offered them with an ACS seat I'd own a few. Especially the 7'6" power rod and the 6'10" spinner bait rod.- Favorite Tough Day Baits?
I always go back to a 6" black worm when the fishing is slow under any water conditions.- Anyone fish curly tail worms?
I still have Black Mann worms from years back too. I throw them but not nearly as much as I use to. I like Culprit too.- Current Favorite Lipless Crank Baits ?
I've been throwing Rat l Traps for years. I'm really high on the Super Nova series. I like 5/8oz best. Colors are great. Pick your poison.- Swim jig vs. Chatterbait
Spinner baits are a great weapon.. Can be used in many ways.. I don't like chatter baits at all. Swim jigs can be good depending on structure. I use a light weight punch head to rig my swim jigs. Ton's of options and always weedless. Tubes and cut skirts are King.- Falcon Rod Users...????.....Micro Guides
Braid is the cats meow.. You're going to love it. Power Pro is very popular.. I like it the best out of the many I tried. I use 40# to 80# depending on where I'm fishing. It's all about diameter rather than weight. I do not use spinning reels for anything. Can't stand them.- Your next rod
IKE 70-5 power rod. I broke mine....... Great rod by the way. 3/8-5/8 Spinner baits, lipliss cranks, square bills, swim jigs... - Do you collect old rods and reels
