Good idea to break it in as is from the factory, Thanks for the tips. Another qustion. I'm not so sure I want to oil the bearings after cleaning them. From what I read using them dry is a benefit. I know that's true of ceramics. Is it also true for steel?

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
I used Trilene and Stren for years. Stren in the later years was better. No knots breaking. I have some 15# CXX coming. I don't know if it was a good move to buy it or not. I didn't care much for the floroclear. I like using Seaguar Invisx. I'm going to buy a spool of Tatsu and give it a try, lot a money, it better be worth it.

Are the stock bearings generally oiled at the factory? The ardent cleaner will flush them right?

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
Here's a question for you, how far are you casting to get into your 4' water? Have you considered buying a more expensive Flouto? Red Lablel is an open water line. Cranks come to mind. Get some 20# Abrazx Flouro. Spend the 25 bucks. You won't regret it.

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
I suppose if you're pitching or flipping in shallow water go for it. I use my jigs in many more environments so I use a different approach in the different applications. If your only fishing soft structure I don't see how the Flouro can let you down. If you said you are working rocky floors with 12# test I would say as I did before. Get 20# line. This isn't adding up in my mind.

Top Water Rod..
I use a made in the USA Eagle Claw Rod for top water. It's an IM 6 blank. It's a great Rod, very rare. I've used mono with it but I have no issue with 12# Flouro. It's a light enough line for top water.

I bought a small tube of butter, I didn't buy the oil or cleaner. I'll order both tonight. I'm going to clean all my new reels and oil and grease them. I want to know I'm getting the most out of them. Any thoughts on Boca bearings?

Making The Switch Back From Fluoro To Mono..
Personally I would not switch back. Go to a heavier line and try different brand if needed. Mono will never get you the feedback Flouro will.

Call Ardent, they can probably tell you what the problem is. It's a new reel to the market, I'm sure yours isn't the first to click.

Seagure Red Label Line
I was given a spool of 12# so I put it in a BB1 last Saturday. It worked great. It's good line, I'm sure you will like it. Beyond that I think all the Seaguar lines are good. Let us know how you feel about it after your next fishing day.

Do You Like Fluorocarbon Line?
I had planned on buying Sunline Reaction but they only offered a 200 yard spools. I wanted the 1000 so I could save some money. I went with the Seaguar for that reason.

New Lews Reels
American leg..fishing has deals right now. Got a Lews SuperDuty for $139.00 and a Tourny pro for $139.00 I'd say that's a score. They should be here Wednesday! Now I have 6 Lews reels. I sold off most the Pfluegers, only one XT left.

Do You Like Fluorocarbon Line?
Tell me more about Tatsu if you have a minute. I'd like to try it but the cost is holding me back. Maybe you can tell me something that will spark me.

Do You Like Fluorocarbon Line?
As I said I use Seaguar Invisx, Prior I was using Stren mono. I'm not looking back. The Invizx cast better and the feedback from my baits is 100% better. 12lb for everything but worming and jigging. I use 20lb. I'd like to try Tatsu but the cost is just to high. If anyone out there is using Tatsu let me know what you think of it. I do have some cxx coming, I'd cancel the order if I could.

Best Rod Action For Chatterbait (& Spinnerbait)
I was using a St Croix Premier until I bought a Fenwick HMG. 6'6" MH 3/8-1oz. The rod cast great and I can feel everything going on with the bait.
