  1. Here’s my new ride well new to me I got her at the end of last summer my 1968 17 foot MFG Edinburgh with a 1984 70HP Johnson on the back the price was right. The guy just wanted it gone so I dragged her home and told my wife about it when I pulled in the driveway with it lol took some lumps but after she look at it she let me keep it lol. Allie she needed was a water pump and a thermostat and some fresh fuel. I was able to take her out twice before I had to winters her. It’s quite a change going from a canoe the this I still plan on keeping my canoe for the spots I can’t put the big boat now I’ve been spending the winter getting her rigged for fishing
  2. I’ve been fishing out of a canoe for years now and I’ve always been doing different things to it every year to make it more stable ind it worked very well My 16.5 foot ascend DC156 square stern has had a 4 hp Jonson on the back of her and yes it was way too much motor for her lol but running a 55 pound thrust motor on her works perfectly. this thing is quite stable even when I’m standing
  3. Good evening I figured I would ask here instead of surfing u tube for answers. So I recently acquired of a free boat and it is in very good condition and was well maintained but sat for 5 years I got the boat home and began playing with it and it only took 5 minutes to get her to run and she runs awesome Now I didn’t let her run to long as I didn’t have water hooked up to her yet. But planed on installing a new water pump and thermostat in her the tell tail was plugged so I cleared it Now the question here is should it be peeing water constantly when it is running. Or only when she is warmed up I do know that smaller outboard motors do pee all the time done know if the same thing should be happening. 1984. 70 hp Johnson mounted on a 1968 mfg
  4. Some times it’s what you have to do
  5. That is so true
  6. I have a 16 foot canoe with a 55 foot pound thrust and a portable Garmin fish finder that had its own battery. If you have to save on wait and are worried about not having enough battery power get a power wheels battery it’s 12 v and I’m sure it would run a fish finder it’s small and around 100$ I was thinking of doing something like that before I found the garmin portable fish finder
  7. Going to try some different stuff I’ll have to give updates on how thay all work
  8. So I just watched a video the glen did about sense and attractants and it made sense I would try to attach a link for it but I’m not that teck savy lol but with that sed there many things to take in Consideration like oil Nicotine are two things that would turn the bass off versus other sense but knowing exactly what does work primarily are pretty much all the techniques that we do know and implement while we’re fishing the scent is one of the last things the fish or bass will recognize i think this is it
  9. Good to know I herd some say they used tunafish one time as odd as it sounds
  10. I was wondering if Anyone use bass attractants If you do what do you use if not then why not I’m just Curious on any thoughts about it
  11. I am a firm believer in researching a product before I purchase it I wouldn’t just buy something because a pro was promoting it. Research and reviews are something I loot for a lot especially it the item is a high dollar amount and of course can I afford it lol I know there are a lot of guys out there that feel the same way as I do. Watching someone use a rod and real. Even a bait helps me make my decision if I really want it Before I Purchased my first bait caster I did a lot of research picking one up and holding it and seeing how it works but unfortunately I am still a guy and I like shinny new things. So the fair monkey does get the best of me when it is under 50$
  12. I’ve been doing it with both lefty and righty it’s really what’s mor comfortable for you you can pick up a cheap one to try out and then go from there
  13. I’m sorry for your loss my condolences to you and your family The best place to social distance is on the water
  14. I feel you on that I try to get my boy out with me but he is in to LEGO’s and video games my daughter on the other hand loves playing on my canoe when I’m working on it and I think she might be more interested in fishing but just turned 3 and trying to get the wife to let me take her out one day hasn’t been going so good ?
  15. I had both of my shots earlier this year after already having COVID last October It went through my hole house my wife and my 2 kids both under 10 we still will go out and use our masks in arias where there’s are a lot of people
  16. Cars ant truck are what make me money and the saying about auto mechanics and there cars isn’t entirely true lol. I do keep up on my maintenance to a point. Right now I have to invest about 2000$ into my GMC 2500 HD. Tiers belts and need to replace my leaky radiator that’s been dripping for about 2 months lol need to make sure she is good enough to keep making it to the boat ramps and back home
  17. I’m going out tomorrow night and can take some pictures when in under way I can’t seem to figure out the video thing got that idea From wingman outfitters and it’s a fraction of the cost lol the only disadvantage is with all that gear it’s trailer only now lol I’ve been thinking of getting a small kayak for the smaller body’s of water that don’t have a ramp
  18. O. I’m sorry. I have a video but not on u tube I’ll try to upload it I’m not to technically Savvy. But I can sent a picture
  19. You can type in your motor size and boat size and your can get plenty of related videos
  20. That’s the only thing I dread is the mess at the ramp other then that as soon as I’m in the water I’m like a little kid
  21. Unfortunately there’s a lot of guys out there that will go out and leave their trash where they were either if they’re fishing or just going out there to hang out there’s been many times where I’ve come across beer cans trash and all kinds of garbage that I’ve personally picked up and removed from the water just to try and help keep it clean or not everybody has that same mentality I wish everybody wouldUnfortunately there’s a lot of guys out there that will go out and leave their trash where they were either if they’re fishing or just going out there to hang out there’s been many times where I’ve come across beer cans trash and all kinds of garbage that I’ve personally picked up and removed from the water just to try and help keep it clean or not everybody has that same mentality I wish everybody would
  22. I’m sorry to hear about your bad luck out of the water if it makes you feel better I haven’t been able to get out much as well wife had surgery I. Early July and hasn’t been able to lift my 2 year old Hopefully the fish gods will be on your side when you hit the water
  23. I put a 4HP Johnson on the back of my 16foot canoe with a 55 thrust pound trolling motor on the front so far so good. And it’s only rated for a 2 hp th best advice is to Research it. U tube and on this wed sight
  24. Backlash it’s going to happen it’s just how good you get when you have to deal with it. I’ve spent a lot of time on u tube learning how to cast a bait caster and how to deal with the backlash And because of the amount of research on u tube and this website I was able to reduce the amount of times I get a backlash and the ability to deal with
