Keitech FAT/ Tail Slappers: 3.8" & 4.8" 5" Grubs Cut R' Worm Fat Max worm Kalins Mogambo Menace Grub More or less
  2. Thanks.
  3. Uhh...How do you figure? The pivot point of the worm is the center, keep the rigidity of the hook to one side of the center, and a 3" bait will still have 3" of wiggle. Which is what I see taking place each time I use it. The #2 EWG actually doesn't even reach the center. So, no, the length of the worm is not a factor.
  4. Well...I only use one color, in all waters. So the only part that was different here, was that I took them to a new lake. Other pieces in the same pack, have functioned just fine in all other locations. Its starting to look like the answer to my question is, "No - the bait should shimmy just fine regardless of water conditions. mustve been something wonky with that particular worm."

This topic makes me want some Burger King.
  6. I have no preference really in blade color, I know certain ones are recommended for certain conditions, but I have not found any consistency to that sort of thing...yet. But I do like metallic blades on sunny days, and painted blades on overcast days. Regarding skirts... I like to play with a wide variety of skirt colors and patterns, but so far, any kind of white w/glitter, and any kind of smoke-based pattern have been good.
  7. Nope, hook is less than half the length. I use a #2 EWG, and that has always allowed plenty of wiggle-room.
  8. Ok, to your knowledge, does there exist any conditions, or combination of conditions that would cause a fresh, unused Senko to NOT do its trademark wiggle/shimmy as it sinks through the water column? Can water temperature or density impede this action? Why do I ask? Well, because when I tossed my 3" Senko into the water on two different days, at one particular lake, the worm exhibited no visible movement whatsoever. The water was clear enough to view this easily. Very odd.
  9. Which Zoom chunks, specifically?
  10. Ive been hearing lately that the pork frog quality has been really going down hill. But I have no experience with those baits so I cant speak about it.
  11. If you have any, what are your favorite chunk trailers for jigs, that retail for less $3? Thx.
  12. Agreed......I was seduced by its good looks and low price tag,
  13. This exactly... The Redeye Shad has a nice slow, shimmy fall. But the Rapala Rippin Rap, has a very fast fall, with not much shimmy or erratic-ness to it. Meanwhile the RatLTraps fall is somewhere in between. All three being of equal weight. So yes, the rate of fall, and the manner in which it falls, is nearly entirely a function of bait shape and design.
  14. If I had the choice - Weedless
  15. After Booyah took over Xcalibur, does anyone have any feedback yet about the quality of the Booyah version of Xcalibur lipless cranks? Are they better/worse/same?
  16. Yep, been doing plenty of that. Been changing it up for about 3 years now. This is probably as good as its ever going to get at this lake, with any regularity.
  17. Uhh....Well sir Id say the number of different baits I have, and use regularly, highly outnumber the fish that Ive pulled in from this lake.
  18. 3" Senko, T-rigged weightless.
  19. Seems that way. Not sure how it can go bad in this sort of way though. If the lip on the crank provides the wobble action, then the lip on this one is somehow failing to do that. Weeiirrd.
  20. You know what else also worked well? Every other piece of tackle that I brought with me. Everything that never caught squat at my home "park lake," brought home the bacon when I used it out of state. So then, in only 4 visits to the lakes out of state, Ive caught 27 fish (+3 more for my wife). Vs. the 32 visits to my home "park lake," with only 9 fish caught. For bank fishing at least, Im still thinking this lake is junk. ( end of rant)
  21. How did I manage to pull this off, you ask? Well I just simply got away from my "park lake" here, and went to a whole different lake, in a whole different state. And then bam, just like that, that thing all of sudden started working - and working well. How about that.
  22. Saw this Matzuo shad crank at Dicks, for only $2.99. Was a good price, and had a fairly nice finish, so I decided to give it a try. What in the world....this thing doesnt even wobble. It comes through the water straight, and dives without any wobble at all. Its the strangest thing Ive seen all week. Now ive seen good cranks, and bad cranks. Ive seen cranks that were out of tune. But I have never seen a crank, that had no wobble to it whatsoever. Can someone please enlighten me on what this is all about? Is Matzuo a junk brand?
  23. Note: I would also recommend trying to skin the hook points in some way. At this point, nothing else secures the hook to he bait except tension on the line. A slack line may allow the hook to dislodge itself. gotta work on that.
