  1. Dang, I've been looking to get into the world of baitcasters, I need to jump on this. Thanks for posting!
  2. If they have any biffle bugs I'd recommend giving those a shot, or if they carry any zoom or berkeley products they should have something you can make work.
  3. Hmmm maybe 4.5 or 5 depending on the girth?
  4. Images added to a gallery album owned by riverbasser13 in Fishing Albums
  5. X2 0n the dropshot, it's not my favourite way to fish but it works. I started using it to solve a problem similar to yours and it helped me figure out how to catch bass out in some deeper water weed beds. Either trig or wacky rig your senko and your in business.
  6. Nice, good to see ol blutarsky is doing good. I love it when bass get that dark green color.
  7. Zara Spook Rebel Pop R. Hula Popper
  8. A 5/16ths baby boo jig in black/brown chartreuse with a Berkeley chigger craw.
  9. Gambler EZ swimmers for me.
  10. I live near Clayton, Ga and usually make the trip up to the little Tennessee near Franklin, NC to do some river smallie fishing. There are some stretches that you can float and some that you can wade.
  11. Never pay full retail for anything.
  12. #4 in the river, #6 in the lakes/ponds.
  13. I agree with mumbly, bone white and clear are my colors for spooks. My theory with the clear spook is that the splashing and ripples that the spook makes as you walk it are what triggers the strike, so a flashy or bright color isn't really needed.
  14. I'm big fan of the 4" yum dingers, hopefully the new ones won't be much different. I hate it when a good thing gets changed just for marketing.
  15. Hey everybody, still kinda new on here and this my first idea for a thread so here goes.... What's your go to stealth presentation? By stealth I mean any time you need to sneak up on the fish, shallow or deep, cloudy or sunny, windy or glassy, boat or bank. For me it's a 4" senko or dinger in green pumpkin or watermelon red thrown on a 2500 Lews lazer speed spin and a 6'6" ML spinning rod (okay, its an ugly stik) and #8 yozuri hybrid. Lately I've been seeking out really shallow warm and sunny water and it got me wondering what else might work besides what I usually use. Thanks and good catchin!
  16. Good work, topwater season has begun around here as well and I'm stoked it's back!
  17. Green pumpkin or baby bass
  18. I would recommend a 7 footer with #15 or #20 braid with a 12 to 18 inch leader of #20 or higher flourocarbon. You'll want to be able to make long casts (sometimes against the wind) and you never know what's out there in saltwater, so I like to be overprepared in case I hook into something large.
  19. Most likely you'll be catching trout, jacks, redfish, black drum, sharks, ladyfish and maybe some juvenile snook or tarpon plus a few species I'm forgetting. If your fishing with live bait there's a good chance you'll get some catfish, sail catfish and puffer fish also. That's a great place do some wade fishing also. An ugly stick should be fine, and rinsing out your reel is a good idea, rinse off your guides also because they will corrode. I'm from titusville, FL and have a MH ugly stick with a Penn pursuit 3000 stashed at my parents house that I use whenever I make it home to visit and do some fishing. Good luck and good catching!
  20. Green pumpkin (pretty universal) baby bass, watermelon, pearl white and salt and pepper are my favourites for clear water and sunny skies. If it's cloudy or flat light and the above colors aren't getting much attention, then I'll try a black and blue or watermelon red or a purple ish color. Clear water can try your patience but it's awesome when you can see the strike 10-12 feet down.
  21. Gambler EZ Swimmers in black blue with chartreuse Spike It on the tail. Here in upstate SC it's been warming up nice and the fishing has been steadily improving, no bedding activity yet but it's right around the corner !
  22. He didn't do bass fishing shows that I saw but Jose Wejebe always seemed like a down to earth guy who would be a lot of fun to fish with. RIP
  23. Haha talk about using your senses,I'll be dealing with the same issues in a few weeks.
  24. Keep it simple Simon. I usually fish spinning gear. Plastics, worms and jigs for fishing slow and paddle tail swimbaits for casting and winding. I usually fish a couple super clear rivers or deep and clear mountain lakes but I like fishing stained water and heavy cover when I get the chance.
