  1. Awesome that is a nice looking bass!
  2. Nice, those are some good looking fish.
  3. Green pumpkin, B&B, watermelon red, pearl white.
  4. Yup that's what people tell me, they even have a mullet festival up in Mims, FL where it's supposed to be real tasty.
  5. Dolphin/mahi +Old Bay+butter in a cast iron skillet. There are a lot of tasty fish in the salt, it's really up who ever is doing the eating. Some people will even tell you how much they like mullet.
  6. Alright that's it time to listen to the bait monkey and common sense and try this out.
  7. That's a nice fish way to go!
  8. Nice, I bet that was a good fight,
  9. 4" yum dingers or something along those lines, also look for clearance deals on things like rebel crawdads and Zara Spook Jr's and/or puppy spooks. Grubs could be a good way to go also.
  10. Looks pretty sharp
  11. I usually hit the water with three rods rigged up. Usually with a spook Jr., EZ swimmer, and some sort of jig.
  12. So the state of WA considers the warm water species invasive and is trying to wipe them out?
  13. Man that sounds like jig territory to me, go for it.
  14. I use a 6'6" ML Shakespeare rod and 2000 Lews laser speed spin spooled up with #8 yozuri hybrid. Not the most high end gear but it gets the job done and works good with a variety of lightweight presentations.
  15. Paired one of these up a bluegill colored finesse jig and the results were good, first two jig fish of the year, and both out of the same brushpile. I'm liking em.
  16. I always set my girl up with a 4 inch senko, she likes skipping 'em or doing this weird shake and reel move, they both work though. Sometimes she out fishes me, lol. She tries other baits but always goes back to the senko.. We also have a no treble hook policy because we are usually fishing in a canoe together. An EZ swimmer or swimming super fluke are good cast and wind baits also.
  17. Hahaha nah, that's just how it goes sometimes. Fallin asleep near or on an ant pile, now that's gettin close to idiot status.
  18. That's a nice smallmouth, and really nice largemouth, nice work!
  19. That's interesting, I've never thought about it like that. I've recently been experimenting with an all braid slip shot rig to fish deep weedlines and brush piles and so far I'm liking it.
  20. I've never had a bass tell me why he or she did or didn't take my lure, so I'm just going off of my experience fishing in the super clear rivers, streams and ponds in my area. Its just my .02 cents, that's all.
  21. I agree that bass don't really think, but I do think they can tell the difference between their natural prey and a unnatural imitation and sometimes braid looks pretty unnatural to me. I do like to use braid often though, most of the time with a leader. If I can get away with no leader and go straight braid then I will. Ultimately it's a confidence and preference thing.
  22. Haha way to get creative and get rid of that goose egg.
