Trolling Motor
Get a bigger one a 24 volt system will run all day and night at less then full speed where you will run the 55 alot harder using more battery. I have a 22lbs on the front of my 16 foot boat and 2 55 lbs thrusters on the back. They work but are not nearly enough. Mind you though my bow mount is 22 years old and still going strong. Also it is alot easier to pull a boat then to push a boat. TD

favorite nite fishing spinnerbait
#3 Mepps Agile kills them every time. Fish it slow just above the bottom or weeds what ever you are fishing. I prefer the silver blade. TD

Thoughts on this fish finder?
If you are interested go to eagles web site and download the demo. It is fully functional for the unit so you can see for yourself it it does what you want. i have no complaints about mine. Plus the demo allows you to play with settings at home on the computer instead of when you should be fishing. TD

Check out the eagle 320 more resolution and the price is about the same. Gas fumes coming from the boat!
Thanks George gas fumes are a real problem. Most of all they can and will explode. If you are smelling gas where it should not be go and have it checked out. If you smelled gas in the trunk of your car you would have it checked out. GAS FUMES ARE NOT TO BE PLAYED WITH YOU COULD GO BOOM ON THE LAKE. Please have this checked and be safe out there. TD

Red hooks...when do you & when don't you??
If you have ever taken a diving course you will remember that reds are the first colors filtered out as you go down in the water column. I would think the red hooks would become black the deeper you fished the baits. I like red hooks so I use them with most soft plastics other wise I use what the manufacture gives me. I don't think the fish care one way or the other. TD

Mega Strike
Be careful with it i deep hook alot of fish when using it. I think it makes them hold on alittle longer. It makes the bait feel more natural. TD

Soft plastic Go-To bait other then a senko/stick
4" hula grub fished on 1/2oz football jig head in a brown black flake color. TD

Strickly trolling motor users??
You can hook your batteries up like I did mine. I use 4 six volt batteries hooked together to form a 12 volt power supply.

Lilly pads
Call the local DNR and ask them I doubt they would allow you to do this unless the lillys are a local species. TD

A Very Puzzling Question...Confidence
Confidence is a state of mind if you don't believe in what you are doing or how you are doing it you will not catch fish. I fish with my 8 year old son all the time and he can catch fish on just about any bait. The reason for this is that he has not developed the negative attitude towards certain baits that those of us a little old may have. I know i have had day when nothing seems to work, but I have my goto bait that I will fish until my arm falls off. I like a 1/2 oz football jig with a hula grug. With this bait I can feel the bottom and the fish love it for what ever reason. I catch large mouth and small mouth bass, pickerel, crappies, and big northern pike on this bait all the time. I even find color does not play a role in my success it is all up to me. If I am confident then I catch fish. My point in all this is you make your own confidence, believe in your bait and your self and go catch some fish. TD

Transducer poll (fiberglass)
Mine is mounted to the trolling motor. But I also fish an electric only lake so no need for the transom mount which would be my second choice. TD

Goldfish Bait
Directly from the DNR web site. Import of Fish for Stocking The Fisheries Service is responsible for the protection and management of fish populations across the state. To prevent the introduction of fish that may compete with native or naturalized species, it is unlawful to introduce any fish species except bluegill sunfish, golden shiner, fathead minnow, channel catfish, and bait fish on a hook for the purpose of angling without written approval of the Freshwater Fisheries Division. In order to import fish to Maryland, out-of-state suppliers must be registered with the Department. Companies must comply with the Maryland Fish Health Requirements to ensure that aquaculture operations do not adversely impact wild stocks of fish. Please do not release aquarium fish to the wild. To obtain information pertaining to permits, please contact the Annapolis office at 410-260-8317. I assume goldfish fall under aquarium fish. I would not do it if I were you. You would probably have the same luck fishing with minnows as goldfish. TD

Electric baby bass boat *(Pics added)*
LBH, What you want to do is build a displacement hull. Think river barge. If you can imagine you want a boat that is basicly a large rectalgle that has both ends turned up like the bow section of a jon boat. What you would do is distribute all the weight in the middle of the boat and then put what ever motors you want on the thing. In theory a non planning hull is only going to be able to go so fast. And building a planing hull to run on electric is awaist of time. Unless you are using a hydrogen fuel cell to power a large AC motor you will not beable to generate enough power to plane the boat. There was a guy who use to fish one of the local lakes near me that had a boat built just likeI described and he ran one of the electric outboards on it. It was a very stable and very fast boat. If you look up Ray electric outboards they have agood article on displacment hulls and their efficency. TD
