  1. Rods: Shimano and St Croix Reels: Abu and Lews
  2. all of the P-Line is pretty similar. I was using CX though.
  3. Fished P-Line this year it was okay. What does everyone else use while Spinnerbait fishing. I fish a lot of open water so a nice soft line helps casting distance but still need low stretch for good hooksets. Opinions? Thanks
  4. I'll probably only ever get one. I fly fish for salmon and inland trout
  5. I don't get why a MH would make a difference over a M in this case. I fish rocks most of the time and I found using a softer rod is nice for bottom contact baits. Just feels better, a opinion I guess.
  6. just for looks and trying to be better than the average angler. Kidding Lol. A buddy of mine has 9 pins, you could say he has a problem.
  7. thanks for sharing! I dont really understand why people spend so much on pin reels. That one fish was a tank. Nice job
  8. I got to mess around with an Islander pin the other day and all I can say is wow. Super smooth compared to an aventa.
  9. I use spider cut football jigs all the time. Hardly ever use skirtless. I target smallmouth at least 75% of the time and there is always a jig on a rod.
  10. I'm kinda stuck around this price point and have two MoJo's already so I might as well get another
  11. I'll stick with St. Croix. Dont like the omens handles.
  12. I've found a hardhead or swinging structure jig tied on more often a Texas rig for me lately because of its versitility. You can pitch it by docks, fish it on ledges, swim it, and so many other things.
  13. I'm gonna get another Mojo Bass. Just asking about action.
  14. of course not. I started fishing smallmouth with crappie jigs. I like a good medium wire hook with jigs though.
  15. Want to get a rod dedicated to Texas rigs and hardheads. I'm a huge fan of light wire hooks and I'm wondering if anyone else likes a M/F for them. Dont fish too heavy of cover. Thanks.
  16. i'm open to try any brand by the way.
  17. What do you think would be the best rod jigs under $150. Really cant spend much more than that
  18. only reason I dislike baby boos is because the super thin wire hook
  19. Is that a fly rod?
  20. a lot of times thats all it takes but you put a bigger bag on a #6 hook and you might miss a fish or two that way. I'm not saying hookset as in jack the fish, just maybe a little more force than lifting.
  21. i know, im just saying i've talked to an awful lot of pinners this year about rod choice and they say the aventa rod is so floppy its hard to get even a good hookset. I've fished steelhead for 2 years now, just never wanted a pin back then.
  22. I fish a 7' MH-F Mojo bass and it's perfect for lighter wired baits
  23. All the local rivers I fish are muddy as well, spinnerbaits with painted blades or gold blades work best when they are chasing, If th bite slows down then I fish a football head jig, dragging it and hopping it is best for me, black and blue is best and if water hits about 2 feet of visibility throw a green pumpkin trailer on the same black and blue jig.
