  1. I tie an odd connection knot, I tie a sturgeon loop knot on my fluoro, then tie a clinch knot to the loop and pull them tight, not sure anyone else does this but i've done this for the last 2 years not one break off, held up to king salmon too.
  2. I would jump up to the 765 utility rod. Powell's seem to pretty soft in the tip section. However. I don't own a 734, but I have a 765 and it should work fine!
  3. it's on a spinning reel, I purchased some power pro tonight, if I get broke off or knot strength goes bad I can switch back to some old reliable braid.
  4. I'll kee it on for now. A little worried. Haven't had knot problems yet. I'll probably end up going back to 832 eventually.
  5. Recently purchased some 12 pound Nanofil for my dropshot/vertical jigging walleye rod, got to use it for a day on some walleye with a 10 pound fluoro leader, so far I'm impressed, very sensitive line, however, Im worried about durability issues, for $20 its pretty pricy and would like it to last.
  6. This isn't a rod bashing post. Most members simply aren't a fan of duckett rods!
  7. I watched a guy break two ghosts in a day frog fishing. 7' 3" heavy exploded like a twig. I wouldn't buy one.
  8. not when toothy critters are around
  9. I'm just not sure I'll like a 7 Foot rod for dropshotting. Also not too firmiliar with how accurate the power ratings are on Powell's spinning rods. I've got three casting rods and they''re pretty spot on for MH rods but I've heard the spinning rods are stiff.
  10. Looking at getting a new rod for dropshotting and jigging for walleye. I was looking at the 702ML, but want a little shorter rod (even if it is only 2") has anyone used the 6101? Is it gonna be too light? Thanks.
  11. I'd try a e6x, lot of hype. I would check out the Powell Max 3D's. Finally got mine out to fish and wow. Super sensitive.
  12. my mistake, I didnt mean to word it as bad, but not up to par for the price.
  13. I guess this guy has used them. you cant speak on a rod unless youve used it. Just because it's cheaper doesnt mean it's going to be a bad rod. Look at the Loomis Gl2, kind of a bad line of rods, now they have the E6X rods. Which so far are very popular.
  14. I see you went out with Eric Haataja, great guy and a great fisherman.
  15. D and L baby Advantage or Booyah baby boo
  16. No. No one. Go check out the reviews on tackle warehouse, its supposed to be a great line.
  17. 2 or 3, but if I'm fishing in my local Marina, sometimes 4 or even 5!
  18. 2 Megabass Vision 110'S in a day, 10 pound line doesn't hold up to toothy critters.
  19. is this on the Fox or a winne system river?
  20. I only put on a grub I'd the waters really dirty and needs more vibration and profile, Spinnerbaits perform best when it's windy and they already don't cast the best, I'd like to keep the bulk to a minimum
