  1. I got out today as well. Caught a couple of really nice fat bass. I'm loving the prespawn weather. In case this is interpreted as bragging, I have been skunked twice in the last week as well! Feel your pain .
  2. Well at least you can fish it later!
  3. I don't know what to think about those baits. They've been very debated over since the 2013 Icast, where they won best of show. So far nobody has proved that they have a huge advantage over other crankbaits, and I'm not shelling out 16 dollars for them. They do look pretty awesome though.
  4. Looks like you had a great time, that fish alone is enough to make anybody's day! Congrats!

Absolutely ridiculous the prices they're going for. And they're not even pre-rapala or anything!
  6. Dude, that is a slab crappie!! Nice job.
  7. Great job! Just goes to show that fish are cannibalistic.
  8. Yep, my mistake. Displaying my ignorance . They are both very good looking rods.
  9. Yup, I find it all too easy to overthink and overguess. I flopped the Sabine river. But hey! That's the fun of fantasy fishing!
  10. *Rant over*
  11. The Bassmaster Elite series tournament for Lake Guntersville is coming up. I've gone through my starting lineup. Bucket A: Justin Lucas I really feel like Justin has a good chance on Guntersville. Not because he lives there. Chris Lane pointed out that the guys who live there have no experience fishing it in the Spring because they are away fishing elsewhere. He's been pretty strong so far and I just feel like he's going to be someone to look out for. If I change my choice, it'll probably be for AMart. He is always one of the most consistent and he can do it all. If the tournament will be won on cranking like the Classic last year, he loves to crank. He's also great at fishing grass if the fish are in the salad. Bucket B: Mike Iaconelli Ike didn't do well at the Classic last year but I have a feeling he'll do very well here this year. He is for the most part a winner, giving everything he's got for the top seat. It's very rarely a wrong choice to go with Ike. If I change my choice, it'll be for GMan. Simply because he's Gerald Swindle. Bucket C: Jacob Powroznik Jacob proved himself to be on fire last year, and hasn't slowed down considerably this year, doing very well at the classic. Sabine was a disappointment for him, but I think that just gives him a better chance at pushing himself this tournament. If I change my choice, it'll be for Randall Tharp. He has a lot of local experience and he finished 5th at the classic last year. I went for him at Sabine, and he failed the tourney, but I think he's going to make a charge at this next one. Bucket D: Jason Christie I have a lot of respect for Christie. He's a great angler, and after a very slow start at the Classic and the Sabine, he really needs a good tournament. If I change my choice, it'll be for Skeet Reese. He will probably do well. Bucket E: Edwin Evers Edwin is a no-brainer for the E bucket. He is a solid angler. Like some of the others, he has had a very, very, disappointing start. It's time to set himself out from the crowd. I'll pretty confident he won't be in bucket E after this tournament. If I change my choice, it'll be for Bobby Lane. Just another one of those who is not a Bucket E Angler. Who are you going with?
  12. I think it looks positively sexy. I mean compared to some other 200 dollar rods just in eye appeal alone it sets itself out from the crowd.
  13. topwater or fish?
  14. To me, a "senko" is a stickbait, much like to many people a "RatLTrap" is a lipless crankbait, or a "Rogue" is a jerkbait with the bill below the head. I have several different kinds of senkos, including the Yum Dingers, Shimmy Sticks, and the original GYCB senko. I have not seen enough difference in scent or action to really distinguish any of them that much. I usually stick with the Yum Dingers because I can get them for 2 bucks.
  15. I really don't care for them as a trailer. I would much rather use a boot-tailed swimbait. I've thought about other ways to use them; you could fish them like a finesse fluke or a grub. But I don't think they'll come out of my tackle bag much.
  16. ^^ lol that will always make you double check to make sure you have pliers in your bag.
  17. Well excuse me! I was only fishing for about an hour and a half, so when you think about it ratio-wise, I caught as many as you.
  18. -5-inch Yum Dinger, GP w/ chartreuse tip. -1/2 oz. Hula Popper, green top, white belly. -1/2 oz. Cotton Cordell Super Spot, red` -1/2 oz. generic flippin' jig with a Riot Baits Fuzzy Beaver -1/8 oz. Bomber mini-whacker spinnerbait And last, but not least: 4 inch generic finesse worm. Any good color crushes bass. My new favorite is the Rage Tail Cut'R worm. Cannot wait to use it more this summer.
  19. Had my first "numbers" trip today. Caught four decent-sized bass. Nothing huge, but it was a lot of fun. I caught three on the Rage Tail Cut'R worm, which I was really excited to do because those were my first for that bait. The last one was caught on a Lucky Craft Kelly J prop bait. First topwater fish of 2015!
  20. The two different ponds I fish are both very different in that one of them is open the whole way around and the other, there's only two spots where I can fish. So with the first, I am more of a run-and-gunner, trying to fancast and move on. With the second, I stay in the two spots the whole time.
  21. Beautiful fish! Loos like you had a great day on the water.
  22. Yum dingers are the bomb! Hopefully nothing drastic happened to their "recipe" because if so I'm gonna have to hightail to Wally World.
