That is good to know. I have a pair still in the package in the garage. I'll have to use them as a gag gift then.
  4. I wasnt sure if this should be in the Tournment Talk section or not. If this is in the wrong spot feel free to do your thing mods. Ok I am getting back into watching the pro tourney's on tv. So here is my odd question. It seems like the top guys have lots of camera's around them and lots of fans following them also. Do these guys make a mad dash back to the ramp for a "pit stop" or what? I mean what is a guy suppose to do when 10 people are watching him and nature calls.
  5. I use 8 pound for spinning and up to 15 for baitcasting. It all depends on the lure, presentation and location.
  6. guest room eh? Would all those boxes be like mints on the pillow?
  7. Thanks. Just made an order for one.
  8. Any opinions on the Shimano Citica? I am thinking of purchasing one for a crankbait reel. This one seems to fit the bill and be at my max $ I can spend.
  9. No changes here. Our club travels quite a distance to fish. Everyone camps and we pot luck for dinner. Very family friendly.

Sweet....but how did you get bruised from setting the hook?
  11. I have been saying that people are loosing lots of money in the housing market and credit market. Look at these investment banks loosing are rear ends left and right. So where is a safe bet to put your money? Oil people will always need oil. And with only 5% down you can buy oil on the commodity market too. Read this article and when you are done tell me spectualtion isn't driving the market. http://emac.blogs.foxbusiness.com/2008/05/30/farm-bills-bid-to-stop-oil-speculation/ Estimates that speculators have more oil tide up than China?
  12. I would think it would have a lot to do with how many you are doing. There is a big difference between 6 lures, 6,000 lures and 60,000 lures. At least that is what I would think.
  13. AWESOME.....so that means the $4.14 I paid today will be a bargin until at least Monday.
  14. If you dont set the hook you cant catch fish. If it feels different than you think it should set the hook. Eventually there will be plenty of fish on the end of your line.
  15. Thanks for all the replies guys. She is extremely interested and just wants to catch fish. I put in her in the right spots and we just need to work on casting accuracy. She loves the outdoors and tagging along. She hunts with me too. Although she doesnt like getting up early or the cold. So I am trying to get her more into fishing. Since it is warmer and she can sleep in. It's working. We have been together for a few years now. It has gone from me asking her to tag along to her asking me to take her. As soon as I can get her casting better and a few more fish pulling on her line I dont think she will ever want to leave the water. Thanks again.
  16. After taking my girlfriend out fishing Saturday I have decided that we need to work on casting. She cant cast very far or accurately at all. I have her using a 6' spinning set up. Any pointers on what I can do besides just time on the water. It there something more that I could do to aid in her learning? Any tips or tricks guys? Thanks
  17. Took the canoe out Saturday for it's mayden voyage. Went about 9 miles down the river. Not one single fish. Oh well. Lots of wildlife on the river. Not to many other people. No one seemed to be catching anything or at least not admitting to it. My girlfriend really enjoyed it. She wants to go out again. She thinks the fish dont like her since she didnt catch any. Oh well. I'll get her out again next weekend.
  18. As far as pro's go I would like to fish with: David Fritts so I could learn some crankin techniques. Denny Braurer so I could learn the jig better.
