  5. I keep all my gear in the shed during the summer. When winter comes I bring all my reels inside and store them in a crate in the corner, with the drags backed off as posted above.
  6. I agree on the Curado. I had never owned a shimano until I got one of these last summer. It is my go to crankin' reel and I also through lipless cranks on them too.
  7. I dont have any weaknesses, I just fish some baits better than others.
  8. I have been using perch and black/sliver with good success.
  9. I worked on a golf course in college. Fished the ponds every night for the last hour before dark. Yes it was easy to catch them, but it sure was a lot of fun halling in those hawgs.
  10. Well opening day is just about a week away. I have yet to buy one single piece of tackle since August. It's been a tough job, but I have managed. I think I might fall off the wagon though. I need a pair of sunglasses pretty bad, but that isnt a piece of tackle right?
  11. Am I the only one sight fishing or what?

I purchased a pair of Solar Bat Wave sungalsses with the Mossback lenses last summer. I like them a lot and I wanted to purchase another pair with the amber lense. Well apparently Solar Bat no longer makes these glasses. Does anyone have any recomindations for a new pair of fishing sunglasses with amber lenses around $75? Thanks

  14. First thing you should have done when you noticed your stuff was missing should have been to drive back home and go into the house panicing. When she asked you what was the matter. Tell her that all of your gear is missing and that you have called the police department and they are sending an office over so you came home to meet them. That should get her to fess up really quick.
  15. Benellia Nova pump. I use mine for deer, bear, ducks, turkeys, pheasants. It does it all.
  16. I concur. It is also nicer on the reel.
  17. Well at least it was lost because of a fish pulling on it.
  18. Took the boy out fishing this morning while his mom was getting things around for his birthday party. Took the canoe out on the lake. Got our spot picked out, tied on a new lure that I gave him this morning for his birthday (5th). I made a couple casts with his rod to make sure all was well. I handed it over to him and on the first cast there goes the rod straight into the water. I had the paddle in my hand, but no luck reaching it. Down it went in 15 foot of water. He was more upset over loosing his new jig than loosing his rod and reel. We called mom and she brought out my sunglasses that I left and home and took him back with her to I could search for the rod. Well after about 12 drifts over the area I thought I saw a flash of his silver reel. I dropped the anchor as to stop my drift. I then started looking for the reel again. No luck whatsoever. I then tied my life jacket to the anchor for a reference point. I made another half dozen drifts with no luck seeing it. I Decided I need to get going to make the party. I paddled over and pulled up the anchor. And to my extreme amazement the rod not the line was hooked to the anchor when I pulled it up. With a good cleaning and a little lubrication his reel should be good to go.
  19. If the fish was bleeding that bad I would have kept it figuring it was not going to make it anyway. Then I would have had some dinner when I got home that night.
  20. Anyone still using these?
