1:7 twist is better with 62 grain and up. 1:9 twist shoots better with the lighter grains 55 and under.

That maybe be my problem. And setting the brakes and such correctly. Well, I never really thought about the sound it makes. I just figured it was used to get up under the dock only lol.

I wondered how good you had to be to cast some of these lights lures on a baitcaster.

So next year I am hoping to go after some Smallmouth. I have never caught one yet and that is part of my New Years Resolution (if that applies). So my question for you Alabama guys or anyone that has fished this area... what are some of the better lakes for fishing them? I know Guntersville is more about it's Largemouth but I think Pickwick and Wheeler are good for smallies? Also, how do they differ from largemouth in presentation? Any tips or articles you might have would be great!

Recently, I saw some talk about guys using spinning reels for casting shallow square bill cranks and soft plastics like flukes. My question is do yall still stay around a 6:3 gear ratio on the reels for this and a 7ft MF action rod? Other suggestions?

Why is it the same names always come up for these things? Stoops isn't going to leave Oklahoma. Gruden is happy at ESPN. Petrino I could actually see as he would want to make a come back. But I don't know if Florida would go that way. Kiffin would probably be a train wreck esp after what happened while he was at Tennessee.

According to the FPI, Alabama has the #1 SOS going into week 12. Auburn losing hurt that staying true going into the SEC championship game though. With that said, I had a blast at Gameday and the game this weekend! Even got the wifey on TV (in the background) of Gameday. The stadium was electric the entire night! Have to say for my first SEC game, it was one to remember. I hope we can go to Alabama/LSU next year though. Being from Louisiana and my bro and sis being born there and LSU fans makes that my favorite game of the year!
