  1. No, and sometimes corrective harvesting is needed. There is nothing wrong with harvesting fish... I don't do it because where I fish it is prohibited. But if you are an outdoorsman (fisherman, hunter, camper) and you make sure to follow all regulations, not to litter, and to generally be a responsible outdoorsman, then you care a lot more than the general population of people. Taxes on guns go to conservation. The guys with the conservation tags are more likely than not outdoorsmen.
  2. If it wasn't for fisherman and hunters there would be no wildlife to protect. End of story. We aee the guys who are paying for it.. Yes, we want to enjoy it but without us no one would care.. Period.
  3. Ok, I think I've figured it out... Dobyns and Daiwa 13 Casting, 5 Spinning Tatula Type R's and Zillions Champion Series Rods Ballistic Spinning And a Whole Lotta Sunline!
  4. Stren Original or Trilene XL. Very similar lines. Low Vis Green in 12# is the only stuff I use.
  5. Very true! My dad just got parts for his procaster that is now well into its 30s and he still uses it every weekend!
  6. Ok, this thread is just for fun... I'm interested to hear what you all say... If you were a bass pro, and you could choose one brand of rod and one brand of reel... What would they be? How many setups would you have? Which setups would you have? Let's see if we can't have some fun with this.... I know that I wouldn't mind being sponsored by Daiwa for reels.... I have no idea on rods though... I'm thinking most of my setups would be Zillions... Not sure exactly which ones...
  7. This... I haven't started using fluorocarbon lines yet, but I'm gonna pick up some FC Sniper or some Gander Mt. Fluorocarbon by Sunline tommorow. I use mono for topwater, spinnerbait, crankbait, jerkbait, lipless bait, and on spinning reels for a few reasons. #1 is cost. Trilene XL is CHEAP but is also pretty good quality line. #2 its easy. Handles well, no ripping hooks, solid knot strength. I've never had a problem fishing with a nylon line... Ever. I only fish Trilene XL and Stren Original
  8. Sorry to bring this up so late, but I was just messing with some jigs... You've got to think that even at only 3" the Jig represents a BIG MEAL... The skirt flares and claws float making it look much larger than just it's length. Also, they are easy to eat... It's like a Super Size Value Meal for a bass.
  9. If its a lean.... It can be a little more sketchy... At least when it comes to trucks. So I would look for something where they do have the title... That said they're are plenty of sales on leans that go fine... So all my opinion.

  11. Do they just sell those or? I know they have to get a new boat every year to show off their sponsor's latest tech..
  12. All I knownis when you look back on your year fishing wise you are gonna kick yourself over not fishing itm
  13. Now its time to do a bass boat conversion!
  14. Fish it. That's my paridise. I can't wait to have my own!
  15. Wasn't comparing. I was saying I don't want to buy cheap line and it to go bad, and I don't want to sink 40 bones into a spool of line either.
  16. Yeah I typically use 12 lb Trilene XL. My latest expansion in line is 1 spool of Berkley Pro Braid. 50 lb strength. So far, I like it.
  17. I'd say that in terms of price Shooter is more like Tatsu???
  18. It was definitely helpful for me at least! I've never used fluorocarbon line and am interested in purchasing some, but I'm worried going cheap with Red Label will not end well, so I'm going to try some "middle of the road" stuff.. not looking to throw 40 bones right away at Tatsu or Shooter. Would you recommend 15 lb Sniper for a guy who has never used fluorocarbon before?
  19. I'm not a user. I'm just curious. I'd like to try it... But for me its hard to sink money into something I may not like
  20. Yeah... I'm looking at being a lawyer so I think either way its gonna be a grind. I mean I'm a swimmer now.. And I love getting up at 4:50 every morning, I've honestly gotten use to it. But I don't think I'll end up going pro or anything... I'm an ok fisherman, but throwing in so much money at the start is very scary.
  21. Does it have a livewell that you trust to keep fish alive all day?
  22. If you are fishing tourneys, then go for the good stuff. If not, its up to you. But I would always make sure I had the BEST tackle (line, hooks, lure, rods, reels) if I was fishing a tourney
  23. I fish mine on a medium rod. What was the gear ratio?
