  1. My take on the situation is try to get it free from where you are but if it's to much effort disengage your reel and fish the area with another rod trying to not make two mistake. Then move in and get it. Stupid to break off for any reason other than you just cant get to your lure.
  2. yeah just came across Fusion a few days ago on Instagram. I think they followed me or something. Maybe their instagram bio has a website link?
  3. And then I found http://www.stormboats.com/index.html more awesome looking bass boats. Anyone else have any off brands they know of?
  4. Just seeing if theres anyone else from the Bay Area here that might want to go fish some local stuff.
  5. Palomar or double San Diego Jam
  6. Very interesting stuff. No videos online and no info anywhere really other than this link: http://www.gatortraxboats.com/m-29-Strike-Series-Aluminum-Bass-Boats.aspx They look really cool. You can have a custom made bass boat. I think BPS sells their other boats and they have a YouTube but no info on the bass boats anywhere. Just figured I'd share.
  7. Rarely do I peg unless flipping or punching. If I do I sometimes use bobber stops but mostly use Top Brass Tackle Peg-It. Don't peg unless you must.
  8. Quantum Smoke PT Speed Freak. Nough said.
  9. Great Baits. My go to is Lucky Craft but I do have the 500DD and they are good quality baits at a good price point with good paint jobs.
  10. Phenix M1 check them out. It's the rod I use for 3/4 oz. spinnerbaits all of the time.
  11. Glass lenses all the way!!! Harder to scratch, superior optical clarity... As far as finding the right model goes call them up and ask them which frames would fit your head shape best. Then from that selection look at what looks best to you. Then order a few pairs and return what you do not want. Don't get fixated on brand. Costa, Maui Jim, Smith, Kaenon... Reason being is that they are all comparable quality. What is more important is finding glasses which fit your face properly. You want a close fit without any major gaps for excess light to seep in. You want to make sure they are comfortable around your ears and don't out to much pressure on your head which will cause headaches. You want to be sure they do not rest on top of your cheek bone at all. You can fine tune them at an eyeglasses shop with a heater to get the best fit possible. For me Maui Jim fit the best. I used to use Smith until I found out the fit on Maui Jim was superior for my face. Personally I have found copper lenses to be the best all around so that is something to think about.
  12. TW sends a return label so if you don't like it just send it back. Order a few pick what you like and send the rest back. Don't forget to consider Phenix. They make great glass and composite cranking rods.
  13. Go to Phenix Rods website and then go to lower right hand corner and click about.
  14. I use the M1 in Heavy for Frogging and pair it with a Quantum Smoke Speed Freak
  15. I have a few Phenix M1 swim bait rods. They are great.
  16. If you don't want to spend $150 go spend $225 for Smith Backdrop with copper photochromic lens. Really you should save for the best pair and then you'll never be left wanting more performance out of your glasses because you will know that what you have is top of the line. You'll never look back. I have 60 Suncloud as well. Night and day difference between my Smith and Suncloud. Suncloud lets light in, doesn't adjust to conditions, not as clear, gives headache. Smith better coverage, much higher quality lens (glass), better clarity, no headaches, lenses adjust to light conditions. Theres probably a ton of other differences between Suncloud and a high quality lens. Oh the best difference is that glass is much harder to scratch and will last so much longer.
  17. In general I would say this is not an accurate statement but guess it's best saved for another place and time. I myself and others probably feel this way but in my experience most anglers and hunters I know make a very large impact and huge footprint on the environment with their lifestyle choices. Anyways good job saving the bird. Living in the Bay Area there are always birds caught in line in the small reservoirs around here. It's terrible. Just last night I was on a walk with my wife and I got a bad feeling so I looked down to the water and there was a group of bank fishermen. On our way back they had left all of their trash all over the place. I see this every time I go out to a local reservoir actually. I've even seen people without rods and just line, huge sinkers and a pack of bacon and chicken livers. They get the discarded line from the local tackle shops for free go to the reservoir chuck it out with a huge weight on it and a giant treble hook and wait for the catfish to happen to eat it. If not they just leave it.
  18. Honestly I just use whatever brand but I did just respool all my reels with Power Pro Maxcuatro Spectra. We will see how that goes. It's supr thin.
  19. go to craft store buy permanent marker buy small plastic baggies put all back in your coffin clean organized hook points stay sharp and dont bang around you can easily pull out a small pack and pocket it for the day etc etc.

Yeah google carolina rig. Thats what you want to use. Use mono for leader because it floats. use unsalted plastics. Any brand will do. Use light gauge hook like owner twistlock light if using a smaller bait and or owner finesse hooks. or use regular owner twistlock hook if a large bulky bait. good luck.
  21. Lucky Craft makes flat sided with no rattles. SKT MR model.
  22. Hmm well I just change my line every time it stops casting as smoothly as I like. or the spool get short on line. Usually every month or two. It's probably good for much longer than that.
  23. ? Isn't that reel like 50 bucks? Not 150-200 range. If you have more spend more. For 150-200 you can get any reel, any brand that looks good to you and it will perform flawlessly. that being said I do like and own 10 Quantum Energy PT reels. They have all performed great for me. Tackle Warehouse also has a reel demo program.
