Fish Grip Jr. slid onto a Brecknell scale does the trick for me.
  2. I've got about 50 of em so uh yeah they are great. I change out the hooks though. The 300DD sizes and larger have sub par hooks. They are VMC but VMC doesn't make sharp hooks in my experience. the 250MD and those with the smaller hooks seem to be sharp enough to have confidence in but still not razor sharp. They are worth every penny and I hope they never start using better hooks because I am going to swap them out for what I like anyways and don't want to pay a higher price.
  3. Ah it gets under my skin. Where I live all of the smal reservoirs are super dirty and yet people still eat fish out of them. Just a few weeks ago I was out fishing and a group of people on the bank had a stringer of 6-10" bass which were definitely way under the legal limit. Called the park cops (thats what you do here in Cali or at least in theBbay Area. They didn't seem to care and never came. Last year I was on another local reservoir. One someone just died on and is currently closed down because a baoter wasnt wearing their PFD when they should have been. Theyre searching for the body. At this one I've seen everything from a hundred beer cans strung up in a tree off a cliff like christmas ornaments. They used fihsing line. I climbed up to cut it all down. 30 minutes later probably the same people were on a school of stripers. There was maybe 6 guys and they all had more than their limit so they were throwing back dead stripers they caught earlier to keep fishing. There was nearly 20 or so stripers of 6lbs+ ea. floating around. Called the park and the police. No one did a thing. I grew up in Wisconsin and if you pulled something like that you would be in some real deep ....
  4. when they pull that kind of crap I go above their heads with a written letter. Usually gets the job done. Sometimes they even get fired. I've had 3 managers fired now by going above them straight away. If you get fired fo being sick and you havea doctors excuse you can have some fun suing them if it's worth the trouble. or at least threaten to. When I have a boss like that I usually quit as well because not worth the stress. I am sure you can find another job pretty easily. I will add that I really believe people that act like that should not be in a position of power and that workers should stand up and stand their ground. Take people like that down. Make them pay for their mistakes. If theyre going to make yoru life hard for no reason make theirs hard or get them fired.
  5. Chine walk supposedly a thing of the past if your buying a new Triton. At least that's what I heard. I have never been in a Skeeter but I do like Tritons. I think Skeeter is one of the best looking boats on the water. If it were me however I would be looking at a Charger. Good luck getting a boat.
  6. Well we got lots of good stuff here. thaks. I definitely found my solution.
  7. I do like the sluggo. But not for what I have in mind. I'm thinking it's gonna end up being Z Man at this point. Actually Z Man is perfect besides the scent. I still wouldn't mind finding someone that hand pours 7"ers.
  8. Zman looks best so far except I prefer unscented.
  9. Started with three... Still looking. I like the zoom magnum but care less for their colors.
  10. The Castaics do look nice. Looking for something with flash. But also just looking to see what is out there in this category. Not as many people making this size.
  11. Zoom Strike King Lunker City Bass Assasin Added: Biwaa Castaic Z-Man Those are the only three I know. Colors are limited. I am looking for more variety. Can't find anything online. Thanks for the help. On another note there are some really weird emojis on here...
  12. Keitechy Salty Core Stick. Conditions dictate color. I own every color they make. If I had to pick one it would be plain old green pumpkin.
  13. Does anyone know what happened as to why they are no longer making products?
  14. I prefer to be able to switch between skirts. That being said I also prefer most hand tied jigs. I think it's situation specific for me and probably about 50/50.
  15. theres only one real answer to your questions: Experience. Over time you will figure it out.
  16. I use a Phenix M-1 Heavy. WOrks for me. I got half a foot on you though.
  17. the plano spinnerbait box works great for me. not sur eof the model# but the 3700 size. I store them in there and then when I go out on the lake I just take what I want for the day in a small tupperware container.
  18. Spinlock Deckvest Llite. LIght weight, highest floation avail, color options, etc. Also sent you a PM.
  19. option 1 just squeeze it out option 2 buy a new frog option 3 take a paperclip and bend it straight. Heat it up and poke a hole in the butt of the frog. Thus giving the water an escape every time you move it forward. May or may not work.
  20. The most economical is buy some nice braid. Put on a fluorocarbon leader.
  21. I have an account. I do not use it. I find it to be more of a pain in the but than anything else. The best record of what you do/can do for sponsors is your own personal website IMO.
  22. I've just had a few people lately say I need to brand myself and create a larger presence online etc. it's not an easy task.
  23. Yeah thanks. Probably will keep doing what I've been doing and stop trying to force things to happen. I have a few "sponsors" that give me discounts free stuff etc but really just trying to build up reputability and an image. I have all of these social media accounts, a website etc and write articles for another site. Also I work in sales to try to appeal more to potential sponsors. Really I need to get a boat but that keeps getting postponed because Im trying to pay cash and not have a loan. Maybe another season or two as a co angler until I get a boat. It's all a long process when you don't have the money to buy your way in like some of these guys.
