  1. time to reload on small topwater. help me decide since it's been two days already. very indecisive.
  2. yup, nail weight in belly. one on each side where the two spots are. that's what they're there for. oh an look into adding one of those nose cones by decoy or paycheck baits.
  3. not cheap but good quality. www.spinlock.co.uk
  4. Chabot is one of the best lakes I have ever fished. Always get a few 5-6lbers and a ton in the 2-3 range. You need to spend time on the lake and get to know it so you can have a general idea as to where the bass will be as they seem to move around a lot. The only tip I will give you without giving away lures or spots (gotta figure that out yourself) is that you should stick to fishing the lake on days that have more than average wind or overcast. Not hard since Chabot gets a ton of wind. The bite always picks up on those days. Put in your time too. Don't go for just a few hours. Get a boat rental, bring two trolling motor batteries and spend the entire day fighting the wind. Eventually the bite will turn on. I should add that I have fished chabot from the bank at least 20+ times with 0 luck. Always do good from the boat though.
  5. State Park. right on the lake. 10 min from town.
  6. thaks yeah found them finally need to order some more. i just couldn't remember for the life of me.

  8. not that kind of charger, this kind which is arguably better than nitro andpriced similarly: http://www.chargerboats.com
  9. Look into other options as well. Charger for example...
  10. Yes go for it. I grew up fishing for musky in wisconsin and have caught bass in the process. A few months ago a buddy of mine caught an 8lb. smallie while fishing a musky tournament..
  11. I really don't think it matters all that much..
  12. I have used up to 2oz weights.. Depends on the cover. as far as baits it can vary but I will often use a Fake Fish. If not the fake fish I will punch with Fat Impacts or Crazy Flappers.

  16. All of my spinning rods are 7'2" or longer.. Use them for the same thing you would otherwise use them for.
  17. Quantum Iron gets the job done for me.
  18. Yeah you can rent a bass boat. It comes with a guide. Should cost you about $350+ If the lake is calm you can probably rent a small aluminum boat but that'll cost you likely over a hundred because after all it is Clear Lake.. Good luck. Clear Lake is not an easy lake to fish. If it were me I would go fish Berryessa or better yet head over to the Bay Area and fish one of the small reservoirs where you can rent a boat for $35 and catch bass all day long on a good day and if the water is clear watch all the 10+ bank cruisers swim by and get ticked they wont eat any of your lures because you frogot a swimbait. You'll need a trollingg motor. Or you could just get a kayak. Or go back to step one. Hire a guide, skip Clear Lake however and hit up the Delta.. It's more fun.
  19. im rolling with pepper custom baits for most of mine. work well for me and come in a variety of weights including 1oz+ which i like
  20. I would check out Quantum reels. Take a look at their website.. They have a video on corossion resistance.
  21. keitech
  22. #1 find scissors or razor sharp teeth #2 cut line #3 retie line with smaller diameter or better quality line (sunline) #4 cut your leader so that it stops just before getting to the reel #5 oh yeah stop using 15lb braid as well and switch to 10
  23. a few possible answers: 1) throw what your confident in. 2) just dropshot or shakey all day. you'll prob get at least one bite this way unless your boater is moving super fast. 3) get on google and research fishing reports for the lake and throw whatever else other people are saying. 4) something else i didnt think of...
