  1. The new ride.
  2. Disagree. There is almost no pressure on Chabot. Sure guys fish it but I rarely if ever see another bass angler on the water other than the guys that used to work the marina. On another note, if you want to fish chabot you need a trolling motor (strongest transom mount minnkota makes) that can handle the wind there, 2 12v batteries because you'll blow through them if it's windy and that extra weight makes those crappy row boats blow around less. Do not rent a boat with the crap they rent. It will die and leave you stranded. If it's windy you wont even get out of the marina. I'll be down in December over the holidays. I'll take you out. We can go chuck swimbaits. Don't expect to catch anything at that time of year though. I'll show you the entire lake tell you what's what , where etc. I know the lake very well. Last time I fished it I had over 30 bass over 6lbs and caught only 1 2.5lber. It's rarely that good and you have to work for the bites. There is a lot of pressure (trout and catfish people in droves) and you'll have to grind to get 5 bites. if you go on a weekday the boat rentals are only like $25 bucks for the entire day.
  3. 112' Lake Washington. Off a Deep Hump. Fish suspended about 1' off bottom or so. Dropshot a 4" roboworm. Took an entire minute to reach bottom with 1/2 oz weight.
  4. two different lures. two different sizes and colors. I have an arsenal of both. The 6th sense has a slow rise and looks good in the water. If I were you I would buy a bunch of different brands in various colors that you'll use and see what you like best.
  5. How about some good shops in France?
  6. I prefer the Spinlock Deckvest Light USCG version but if you are limited to BPS/Cabelas I would just get any old inflatable. They are all fine. Whatever is comfortable and within your budget. I would personally recommend making sure that you get an auto that can be converted to manual when you want. So if you go kayaking or something rather than in a boat you can switch to manual mode and not have to worry about it inflating if you go in the drink which you are more likely to do on. A kayak or SUP
  7. no sorry no abuse. failed welds all over the boat. I'm not the only one. This has happened on multiple PT20 boats. The PT20 has been discontinued due to having too many failures. The new one for 2020 is supposed to be much better. crestliner is buying this boat back from me.
  8. crestliner..... cracked transom, cracked 3' across bow, cracked 6' down center of hull. I suppose can happen to any aluminum but I would be hesitant to get anything made in the same factory my boat came from or anything Brunswick for that matter. Have had so many issues with my boat. Have attorney involved now. 100 days or so in shop and have only had boat for 8 months. It is totaled from all of the cracking. It's more a matter of poor customer service and the 10 or so other people that have told me their pt20 has cracked in the same way.
  9. another cracked aluminum boat. yeah the dealer should help you. my pt20 has over 10' of crack right now. waiting to hear back. 13 days and counting. I am sure ranger is more on top of their stuff than crestliner.
  10. upgrade to the aaron martens gamakatsu nano finesse or whatever they are. much stronger hooks. best replacement hooks for that bait.
  11. hard to get lost there is so much water right now there are few to no dunes. some might be just under the surface though. use google earth to mark main channels. right now it's easy to get around and fish everywhere in that lake regardless of where you fish yo can catch something. good luck.
  12. I downloaded the Acorns app. turned on 10X roundup. Didn't touch the money until there was enough for a good down payment. Took about a year. Financed the heck out of the boat to make the payments reasonable. Whatever it takes. No kids though. And all I care about is tournament fishing. In terms of making a responsible decision I might not recommend doing what I did. Actually I do recommend Acorns to help you save. Worked for me because I have a lure buying addiction and have a hard time saving. Once you saved up just buy a used boat. Plenty good used boats out there.
  13. summer = maybe a rain coat at most and shorts and flip flops. IMO If you haev the $ buy any brand of goretex rain gear. the 3 layer goretex works much better than the proprietary 2 layer membranes most cheaper rainsuits have. Goretex products typically have a lifetime warranty as well so look into that. Goretex is also more durable.
  14. chabot has had many 10+ come out of it and you can rent a boat at half price weekdays. but get them to put in extra batteries. they haven't changed them out in like 10 years. you'll get stranded without them or just bring you own 12v and trolling motor. I have had many days there where I catch at least 1 over 5. last year I had a day where I caught about 30 bass over 5lbs. chabot is either on fire or sucks. good luck. Lafayette has rentals and is good with some mondo bass but a very tough bite. very hit or miss. san Pablo can be on fire for spots and has some largemouth but not a lot. many of the lakes in Marin are great. Del Valle can be good and has rentals but gets a lot of pressure. all the places I listed have great bank access. well except Lafayette. just get rentals and buy yourself a trolling motor. youll have better luck and learn more.

nowadays the water itself is probably slightly toxic to the fish. This is like asking if the lead bait you lost at the bottom of the lake is toxic to the fish or the 10 million plastic worms leaching at the bottom of the lake. and so on. JJ's is great. LOVE it. Be very careful with it. It will explode everywhere, it will dry out, it will melt things. Best scent though.
  19. I fizz if I caught the bass deep and it looks like it's having trouble going back down. Or if they are belly up in livewell and fin clips don't seem to do the trick. fin clips seem to work on bass that have been in livewell all day but if they are in there for a short time it seems to not be enough for time for the bass to fix itself. I don't like fishing deeper than 50' but they will go down to over 100' in the winter where I live. You can still catch them in 30-50 though so just because the bass are deep doesn't mean you should catch them that deep if you even can. takes about a minute for the 1/2oz dropshot weight to get that deep.
  20. the sizing is not always correct. I want exact. a lot of times a 4.5 will be labeled as 5 etc. and doesn't say whether has a belly slit or not.
  21. Just want to know exact length? Belly slit?
  22. meh just go fish the salt river for 6"ers.
  23. Well lets see.... 1) boater takes a business call. 30 minutes. swearing, yelling and so on. boat floats off into middle of river. I have nowhere to fish. I was catching them before that. same boater flipping 2' away from reeds on river in current leaving me nowhere to cast. i'd stand there and wait for him to get a birds nest (there were many) and drift off a bit, flip in my dropshot and catch one once the boat backed off. same boater goes right over a school of fish. he has 0 at this point. about 10-15 bass all well over 8lbs just chillin on the bottom cruising this outside edge of reeds. I flip in the dropshot one chases it down but misses it because he's blasting off with his trolling motor to go flip some shallow reeds in 6" of water where there are no bass. bad day. 2) shared weight format. boater back boats me all day running as close to the bank as he can on a almost vertical bank with trolling motor on high leaving me nowhere to cast. couldn't just drag a bait either since he was moving so fast. ho got 0 fish of course. 3) bed tournament shared weight boater would not let me flip to any of the bass. 4) bed tournament boater has like a 25lb limit by 10am. lets me flip on one. rest of the day he spend looking for more bedding fish and never let me flip in and get some of the 3 pounders. hw would only stop if they were over 5. we roll up on some guys that were going for this bass. they trolled off and said it was uncatchable. it swam out the the edge of the tules. I drop my bait and it sucks it in and I said it ate it at which point boater puts trolling motor on high. it was a 10+. 5) have had boaters run around all day like a chicken with their heads cut off when I figured out the pattern in first 5 minutes of fishing.spent all day convincing boater to go back to an area we saw a bunch of fish. bedding smallies on laydowns in 10' or so. i'd flip a dropshot to each one and get bit. he got jealous after I had 3 fish in about 5 minutes and went in about 45 minutes early. could have had a limit for both of us. 6) had a boater make a run down Winnebago in 6'+ waves lightning everywhere. thought for sure I was going to die. couldn't walk the next day. 0 fish because he back boated me on the one spot he wanted to get to. we should have never even gone out. a lot of guys bailed and like 6 boats sunk that day. 7) probably a bunch of other bad boaters as well. ? when I do 8 it makes that smiley for some reason. on a more positive note I have my own boat now. have had a few great boaters, Heath Ahnen (the main reason why I fish today is because of this guy giving me a very positive experience in my first year of tournament fishing redmans), Ryan Friend, a few other guys I don't remember... a good boater will chill out and not take low level tournaments so d**n seriously, they will help you out show you the ropes, give you a bait to try if they're catching them, actually let you get some casts in, treat you with respect, not demand money from you (imo everyone gets money unless they back boated you on purpose and demand money which in that case I just walk away)...
  24. utah has plenty of bass fishing. utah lake, strawberry reservoir, flaming gorge, powell, quail creek, sand hollow and i just found this http://www.utahfishinginfo.com/utahfish/largemouthbass.php
