  1. I do but I'm wondering who else may. We can all post our account names and follow each other. mine is @zethkinnettfishing
  2. like I said in your PM it's all about the Keitech. I use the crazy flapper a lot. I also don't use it nearly as much as I use a keitech swimbait on the back of my jig which is about 90% of the time.
  3. I use scent to make fish hold on longer not to attract them. You can mix and match scents. I do and have no problems. JJ's magic is great. It penetrates and stays put. I am using it less and less however because I've had one to many methiolate explosions. Also don't necessarily believe the hype about any particular scent. They all have differences and they all work in their own way. The newest craze amino acid. I guarantee almost every single scent on the market has amino acids in it.
  4. ha yeah I'm gonna post some pics later of the uptons stuff I got in the mail yesterday. One of the better purchases I've made. I gotta learn to save.... And what the heck I definitely didn't get that many stickers from tackle warehouse or i just never looked for them in the box.
  5. Wow! Bored at work so I totaled up everything I've purchases at Tackle Warehouse since last April. This does not include my purchases elsewhere which are many. I feel like there is still so many more baits I could easily buy. Sitting at $5953.44 for just under a year of purchases. I sure do wish Tackle Warehouse had a membership like REI so I could get something back for the thousands of dollars I have spent. I'll opt out of showing this post to my wife who does support the addiction/passion but the numbers might be a little shocking to her. I wonder who else out there is dropping huge amounts of money on gear. I will say though I did have a 15 year hiatus and am getting everything back together. Whatever it takes I guess. Hopefully soon I'll have enough to direct some of that cash to a boat payment.
  6. I did a custom order and got a big box of the best worms I've ever seen. Hand poured in any color you want or one of the colors on his site. I got the 8" straight tails in fat size and the 8" Lizards. I could not be happier. They float like crazy are loaded with salt and smell like candy, Not rotten garlic etc. I would highly recommend anyone looking for worms think about getting them custom made by Upton's Customs. It works best if you can get some friends together and place an order. I paid a lot of money to have what I wanted made. 50 min per color @ $25. I'll easily go through all of them. I got 6 colors of worms and 5 of the lizards which are $1 a piece.
  7. Save $500. Poorly designed rain gear is a waste of money and will always leave you dissatisfied. I really like the West Marine brand stuff because you can get high quality at a lower price and it's very durable. That $50 rain gear will last one season and end up in a landfill polluting the lakes we fish. For cheap stuff Frogg Toggs is your best bet though.
  8. The only rods I like at Bass Pro shops are the BPS rods. Whatever fits your budget. I have some Extreme series rods that are pushing 15 years.
  9. Varies. Almost always fluoro. 8-15 depending on conditions, lures, rod/reel used etc. If I had to choose one line only I would use 12lb.
  10. Check out the Spinlock Deckvest LITE. A great Auto inflatable. Actually better than great. Amazing! Light, more buoyancy, comfortable, auto/manual, will not go off in rain. Has won tons of awards. http://bassanglerhq.com/blog/gear/spinlock-deckvest-lite-ultra-lightweight-lifejacket/
  11. You could even head up to Milwaukee 90 minutes or less away and catch smallies all day long by the bucket load in the Milwaukee river with a few largemouth and northern mixed in.
  12. I own quite a few Quantum Energy reels and they are great. I have no reason to go with something more expensive unless I need something else like a lower gear ratio or larger reel.

Just keep them in the bags. It's easier and costs less. I keep all soft plastics in original packaging until needed and then they go into a Plano just for that day. They seem to last longer and the scent lasts longer if there is any.

JJ's magic is the best. Go try it. It penetrates and changes the color of the lure. A little goes a long way. First dip your entire bait in clear then use the colors in moderation. Never tried Spike It and never will. JJ's is also scented and the scent lasts.
  15. They have future planned sites everywhere. Doesn't mean it will come anytime soon though. They have had a future planned site here in Cali for years and nothing has ever been built.
  16. MH/F 6'6" or 7' will cover all your bases. Think however are you fishing more open water or casting to specific targets? 6'6" will allow for more accurate casting. Personally all my MH rods are 7'2" Phenix M1 models. If you want to stay lower cost I would look at the Bass Pro Shops rods. I used to use the Extreme series and they are the best value for the money. Never had a single problem with any of them.
  17. I would agree with the above and say that you can get much more for your money by buying used. You can get a lot of used boat for the same price. www.boattrader.com
  18. Any brand fluorocarbon in 6lb. Any brand braid 10lb. bright yellow. braid will help with reduced line twist and also allow you to see bites. fluorocarbon leader will keep fish from seeing braid. use a uni to uni knot. the above is a general finesse drop shot setup. you can then adjust form there to the conditions you have. even use it as a non-finesse presentation and as a horizontal bait rather than vertical. let us know what you decide on.
  19. #1 Keitech I also use: Roboworm Don Lovino I don't use many others unless something is out of stock and I am forced to use another brand.
  20. syringe from walgreens the big plastic wound irrigation type.
  21. If it's a spare jacket for guests I would look at BPS and get something cheap. If you want the best I would highly recommend you look into Spinlock vests. They are great. Much better than competitors. I've been wearing one for a while now. They make the most advanced inflatables on the market and are very reliable. They also have a brightly colored pull cord just tin case. They are a UK company so not all are Coast Guard approved but that's going away anyways in the next few years. Spinlock has a couple coast guard approved models but the one you will find most readily available is the Deckvest Lite. You can buy it online from Spinlock or at West Marine.
  22. There are bank fishing tournaments here in Cali. Never fished one never will. Marin bass club has them.
  23. Tungsten is so much better. Once you go tungsten you never go back. i could not imagine punching mats with a huge lead weight. Do the lakes rivers etc a favor as well and don't pollute them with lead.
  24. I like a Keitech easy shiner for drop shot. I will go to a Keitech swing impact if i want more action. I will also often use a roboworm fat. I always by threading the bait on the hook shank. I don't nose hook often. I will wacky rig the bait if the fish are biting short.
