  1. Well since I'm up late on call I'll throw my 2 cents in, smithwick devil's horse. The strikes I had on that gave me chills
  2. River I fish on used to be Dynamite with a spinnerbait, now they won't touch it. Could be pressure or a change in forage I don't know. What I do know is now everyone is throwing squarebills. So if my theory is correct next year they will be ready for spinnerbait
  3. I use daiwa j braid x8. I always find it on sale down here and it hasn't failed me yet
  4. I use pork in clear water when I can actually find them around here. Actually my number one marsh bass producer is Johnson spoon and pork chunk usually in frog
  5. 3/8 is my go to in green pumpkin and brown. I keep the jig at those colors and change my trailer based on water clarity
  6. Nope. It's like comparing longville lake to Vernon lake, or what was Vernon lake
  7. On a serious note here on my river crawfish is the center of the food pyramid I can't tell you how many times I've been upchucked on and it's crawfish

Here in Louisiana I've seen them red, brown, and green
  9. Or sausage or mushrooms or lemons, hell I seen them school up with shrimp and crabs in there also
  10. In it's natural habitat you can see the cajun circling the table, preparing itself to be nourished.
  11. Never fished the signature series but owned a few fury's, if you get a fury go with the 4 power. I absolutely loved my fury's before I moved up in the Dobyns lineup. I find Dobyns rods to be the most comfortable rod in my hands. Try and get your hands on both and you decide
  12. I used to own every model of hmg and an aetos. The hmg mf is closer to medium heavy. The mh closer to heavy etc. Same with the aetos I felt. But I'll tell you what they are great rods at each price point. I regret getting rid of them at times
  13. Nice I'm in swla. Dobyns DX also is another good one in that range. I'm sure I can find some more to throw at you lol. Living vicariously through you
  14. First of all welcome to the forums baw. I don't know much about megabass. Primarily Dobyns, daiwa and Powell. Third of all, where are you located?
  15. I've heard great things about the bass x as well seemed a little tip heavy from what I've felt but I don't know once you strap a reel down. I'm a Dobyns guy personally and love the fury and the savvy which you can get for 100 on their page
  16. I don't bother with contour maps on calcasieu cause I firmly believe everything has changed so much to when they were made
  17. This thread is an eye opener here
  18. Yup I'm in swla and that south wind is a killer some days
  19. Caught 20 in fifteen foot of water a month ago on my tidal river, define deep
  20. I owned a fury, I own a savvy 766 for flipping and I own a 684 Sierra, and had my hands on a 766 Sierra. Sierra I love but I also love the savvy. Also you can get a savvy 766 for 100 on Dobyns website, the savvy is a little heavier but I also feel it's got more power than the Sierra I felt.
  21. Shhhhhhhhhhh don't tell nobody, spawns on in swla also
  22. Tidal fisheries can be tough, I fish a small one regularly
  23. I have a champ 735 and absolutely love it. I also have a Sierra 684 and I'll say this much, don't sleep on the Sierra. IT may have a slower action but oh man does it still have a boat load of power
  24. This year I plan on adding skirts to the Texas right for a slow bulky fall
