  1. Could've been mislabeled. I have a pack of zoom watermelon candy baby brush hogs Thats supposed to be watermelon candy flukes
  2. Put mono on first so you dont have to fill the entire spool with braid. And your rod guides will be fine with braided lined.
  3. I only night fish during summer but my top 5 baits are: 1. V&M wild thang worm 8.5 & 10.5 2. Jig with rag lobster 3. Lucky craft Sammy 115 4. Zoom ol'monster 5. Single Colorado spinner bait
  4. Congrats. PB's are always great.
  5. I first heard of this place last year watching an episode of Louisiana sportsman tv show. Then shortly another Show featured this private lake. Bith with Greg hackney. A month ago mark zona did a show on it and I couldn't stand it any longer and booked a trip. Unfortunately after the episode aired the price went up! Oh well, better just suck it up and book the trip. This is a 484 acre lake in southwest Louisiana that was once a rice field. Only 5 years old and already producing double digit bass. This place is know to produce 50-75 fish days(6hrs). My time came up and headed south this morning with my girlfriend. We launched around 0645 and started fishing topwaters. Wasn't long before my gf caught a white perch on a whopper plopper, lol. A few casts later she landed a nice bass. Her PB! i was stubborn and continued to throw a frog but it wasn't long before a got a hookup, finally on board. Btw, The finger is indicating my first fish and is not the ISIS symbol. We continued to fish various baits after the topwater bite subsided which included swim jigs, swim baits, trick worms and senkos. The catching was good for me but considered below average according to my guide. The wind was blowing harder than I'd liked which made workin an area thoroughly difficult. But we managed to catch at a good pace with these being the average sized fish. When we got back to the dock. Hank Parker was getting ready to go out to film his second episode on grosse savanne. Talked to him a bit and got a photo. One of my fishing idols growing up. Over all a great trip and a fantastic fishery. Total for the boat was around 50 bass. Most were 2-4 lbs. only 2-3 dinks!
  6. The tw sale seems pretty good to me. Idk what y'all are expecting. Other sites doesn't have that good of deals right now, or am I missing something?
  7. Zoom trick worm, rigged weedless and weightless. Work the entire bank. Throw it out and wait a while before moving the bait. If no takers on that rig there just isn't any bass in the pond.
  8. I'd get the steez over the Abu all day every day
  9. Green pumpkin watermelon seed laminate
  10. If there is an army surplus nearby, usually you can get an unused woodland camo gortex jacket and pants for under $100. I used them in the military and still use them now. Works great
  11. Thanks guys. I guess I'll have to get them custom made. Kc injection baits seems to have what I'm after.
  12. Does anyone have any info on where to find a French fry/centipede type baits in white color? I'm running low on a large old stock of culprit(I believe) centipedes in white from almost 20 years ago. Been reluctant to use them up since I haven't been able to source any. It seems zoom doesn't make it in white either. Any info is appreciated
  13. Steez xt mh/f with scorpion xt1000. You won't find a sexier combo regardless of price.
  14. Check out the "so you wanna learn Toledo bend thread" in the central fishing area forum here. Tons of info. Starts back in 2008 and is current
  15. 360tuna, noreast, bloodydecks, 2coolfishing. Those should cover your west coast, east coast and Gulf of Mexico areas
  16. That's a great find. Keep it. No need to post an ad for a lost combo or feel guilty for finding it, Regardless of how expensive it was. If I lost that setup and didn't get it back before leaving, I'd have left accepting my losses. Hopefully the reel is serviceable but most importantly enjoy that new stick.
  17. I have both rods. The exprides are sick! I love my glx/nrx rods but I have 5 exprides and they are capable of hanging with them easy. People that say they have problems with Shimano rods probably haven't used the newer sticks. They are some of the most comfortable rods to use period. I own steez, zillion, legend extremes, glx, & nrx rods for Comparison. Either rod will be great.
  18. I dig it. I'll be fishing that place (gross savanne) on the 27th!!
  19. Well I finally booked a trip to fish millers lake at grosse savanne near lake Charles, LA. I saw a Louisiana sportsman episode last year there with Greg hackney and looked promising. As the year progressed I watch a few different fishing shows that were filmed there and they were all consistent with their catches. Mark zona was the latest show to expose this place. After that episode aired, the price went up to $600 from $450(ouch!) but I booked it anyways. I'll be fishing there March 27th. Has anyone experienced gross savanne?
  20. Sometimes I use heavier weights when the fish are really tight in the buck brush. The heavier weight "goes in" much easier and makes a difference in bites.
  21. Totally up to you. Bass on beds are gonna get fished and maybe caught wether it's by you or someone else. I will cast to bedding fish but I won't stay on it for more than a couple casts before moving on. I also have never taken a bass home either.....and I've caught a decent amount. Some folks will get butt hurt about the idea of taking fish off beds and such. It doesn't matter to me because it obviously isn't hurting the populations of bass (at least in the places I fish).
  22. Not sure what lakes he fishes but Karl kolanka from extreme angler tv fishes in Ontario a lot. Not sure what channel the show is on but i watch full episodes on YouTube. He catches good sized largemouths all the time on Ontario lakes. Might can get some insight there
  23. Hammer rods. You won't be disappointed. Powel max3d rods have impressed me for thei price.
  24. Bucoos are nowhere in the same league as hammers. There are a lot of rods that have similar looks when it comes to guides and trim. These rods are 2 totally different species.
  25. Toledo bend sam rayburn okachobee lake fork falcon too many to list!
