  1. hey guys my 1998 evinrude 150 with the ficht fuel injected engine is blowing a fuse. would anyone have a schematic or repair manual for this engine? can you suggest somewhere online to get one ? thanks
  2. do any of you guys own both? is there a noticeable difference between the two? i have two tournaments and several lfs speed spools. both are great reels. i do prefer the dual braking on the tournaments and was thinking about adding some tp's if they are worth the extra money.
  3. i have a lews custom speed stick and new white bps carbonlite both in ML. the lews is more of a Med action to me but the bps cl is what i would call a true Med Light. with the bps cl i can cast 1/8 oz. crappie jigs. the lews is much better suited for 1/4 oz. and up. both are great rods but they are very differant in action even though they are both rated Med Light.
  4. nice work. this should get interesting
  5. i have two quantum reels that are prone to backlash when filled to the first lip. if i pull off about 15 yrds of line they cast like a dream. my lews reels seem to cast good filled all the way to the first lip or just a bit more but as i start to lose line due to break offs or cutting it back due to abrasion damage i start to notice a slight dip in casting distance. i guess every reel wants or needs a certain amout of line. just go with what works for you and/or your reels.
  6. i generaly cast with less backlash on my centrifical brake reels compaired to magnetic brake reels. that said i have had good luck with my ,magnetic brake only lews reels.
  7. something with dual brakes. basspro pro qualifier or lews lfs tournament mb speed spool. you can really tune these where backlash is nearly impossible.
  8. i cant really comment on the action but i put my hands on one yesterday at bass pro and thought, wow this rod is heavy as lead. i had just handled some of the new carbon lites so maybe they were just really light in compairison.
  9. this is what i did. i cut a broken rod off where the reel mounts. works perfectly.
  10. make sure the " yoke " that lifts the pinion gear when you press the thumb bar is on the correct way.
  11. i bought the hedgehog tool and used it twice. the second time i bent the pusher pin. it was my fault but the pin is very delicate. be sure you have it centered perfectly!
  12. of course the lew's will cast farther. at least for me since thats the only brand i use. seriously though, all those are good reels. my suggestion is use the one that just feels good in your hands.
