What are you REALLY good at ? (OK to brag here ;-)
I rock at skipping docks. when I fish with 2 people in the boat I have to do a kind of upside down, leaning, over my head cast from my left side so i don't smack the guy in front of me but I cant hit the motor either. I will put 9 out of 10 casts under a pontoon, between the dock post and the boat. we have made a game of calling our casts, good times. I am also stubborn and have great drive. I will fish for 8 hours before i realize I haven't eaten since dinner the night before. and I am a fat guy!

why do some people............
just another probably stupid question. I read all the time were guys say they throw a rattle trap or something fast to catch all the aggressive fish then something like a carolina rig to slow down and try to catch the bigger less aggressive fish. why not just start with the carolina rig in the first place. that way you would have a shot at the non aggressive and aggressive at the same time. I got cabin fever BIG TIME!

CRANKBAIT DEPTH QUESTION ? HELP
check out precision trolling. It has most crankbaits in it as well as their depth curve based on length of line out and diameter of line. you can get a pretty good idea based on that. it is geared toward trolling but you can get a real good idea of what is going on.

Gander Mountain Fishing Rods
I worked there for 5 years and they were always technically 2 year but my manager always told to just take them back and not worry about it.

BIG Gander Mountain sale.
you know I worked at gander for 5 years and they SUCK! I went in today and asked to look at the st.croix mojo and was told they didn't have any. when asked when they were comming in I was told they wouldn't carry them because quote "they are too high end and most people wont buy them." I asked why they had 5 steez rods at $399 he didn't know and when I told him the mojos were only about $90 at cabelas he said he was thinking of a different rod. I said ok and asked where they had the manns wake crankbaits. guy had no idea what i was talking about so I asked for the baby 1- when I finally found them on my own big suprise no wakes. so I left and drove the 10 extra miles to cabelas. moral of the story having worked at gander I can say first hand they will hire anyone, even me, and they are so focused on what will sell the most that they forget about the guy looking for high end gear not that i am really high end. shop gander if you want zebco reels and banjo minnows.

I don't see any posts on this bait. what do you think anyone tried them I think they are new so maybe i am jumping the gun but someone has to have tried them. for those who haven't seen them here is a link. runs 1-3 inches deep sounds pretty sweet to me. http://www.mannsbait.com/searchitems.asp?Searchfield=Waker%20Elite

Lefty Righty Reel confusion....
I would love to crank with my left hand, but that hand is retarded. I loose all coordination when trying to crank fast. that said my ice fishing reels are lefty since I only have to reel in 15' of line.

backlash as soon as i hit the button
tighten your spool tension knob or just loosen your drag.

Videos
there are a ton of fishing videos on utube is there a way that if someone found a good one we could post it and it would stay. I think it could generate some good forum topics. there is so much garbage on utube that for a good video you have to search for 20 minutes to find it. just a thought I would love to see something like this happen.

Ipods? Yes or no?
I tried headphones once and couldn't stand it, except for running across the lake. now I bring a small 1 speaker stereo that I bought for $8 at target and listen to talk radio, only after all the dips come onto the lake.

early season warning for all
funny how when you aren't prepared bad things happen. when you are prepared every thing runs smooth. when I first got my boat I had tons of issues. frozen bearings, you have to grease them more than every 3 years? ;D that was a long story. busting sheer pins, charging batteries, you name it i pretty much had it fail. now I carry tools and sheer pins and haven't had a single issue in like 5 years or so. knock on wood.

Videos
I think it would be kind of nice to have a video section. you could break it down by technique even. I know LBH has some sweet videos that could be on there. It would kind of help the newer guys as well. sometimes watching something done is a lot better than trying to read about it. just my .02

"senko" or knockoff setup
6'6 med-hvy st. croix avid spinning with a shimano symetry reel spooled with 14# suffix braid. 5 or 6 inch senko knockoffs with a 3/0-4/0 wide gap braid hook. run them texas rigged then when they get beat up i turn them around then i wacky rig them. you can really get some mileage out of them that way

Fishing with Flukes
I went 2 summers with not one fish on a fluke i didn't fish them that hard either but then last year I tried them and I caught so many fish that first day I was hooked. I went out and bought 5 packs of them and they are now my go to bait. I like fishing them more than senkos actually.

Pet peave's that shouldn't be
x Infinity. Also, when the line gets caught in a treble on the perfect cast therefore ruining it > there it is right there and I will add when you try 20 casts to get through that little gap between a pontoon and the dock post and finally you really skip it back there and you get hung up right away, you have to get up on the dock and try to get it out and usually it is something really simple to get off but you have ruined that dock for fish.

rods all the same ??
I have a 7' med-hvy st croix avid with a moderate action and a gander mountain guide series tournament rod also 7' med-hvy but fast action. the gander mountain rod is softer than my avid and works great as a crank bait rod. so yes all rods are different even though they are rated the same.

Labeling rod/reels with what line you have on them ...
i am one of those weirdos who uses braid for everything. I use 20# suffix braid for all my bait casting setups. I like the casting distance it gives me and I use 14# for my spinning. I do have one rod rigged with 12# yozuri though I don't think i even used it last year. so I dont have to wonder what is on the reel.

Great Drop Shotting "How to" video
I hope your kidding, not every fisherman was born with the knowledge of dropshotting. you have to start someplace and watching someone do it is a big help

What is your favorite fishing situation?
early morning on a hidden lake that i have all to myself, dead calm water. temp around 60, overcast maybe a slight drizzle water temp around 70 so there is a bit of steam rising off the water. throwing a top water bait of any kind.
