South Jersey Bass Fishing
Weekends get pretty crazy out there depending on where you are trying to go. You're best bet is going to http://www.sjbca.org/ and checking out the clubs and their schedules to see which bodies you want to hit.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
New Brooklyn will definitely get you your toothy critter fix. Good to see that you are pulling in some at Oak and Hammonton. Oak is extremely tough fishing and Hammonton is the land of the dinks.

Maryland's Who's who!
Going to be doing some bank fishing tommorrow. Live in the Germantown Gaithersburg area. Just moved here from south jersey. Anyone know of any spots I can hit up? Already hit little Seneca but I'm still unsure of how to get around it, especially on the banks.

I Feel Bad For Asking For This Boat...
As I am sure you are grateful - without knowing - these are priceless memories you and your father get to spend together. Being down on the water, well... that's another story. Hope he can swim

Anyone have an open seat for tomorrow to get out on the water?

Daiwa Zillion Tws Clutch Fix?
Let me start off - I love this reel. Trying to figure out if I need to get it serviced. Reel is a little over a year old and at times during a hard cast, the clutch will seemingly disengage a little bit and you will hear this awful awful grinding sound. The knobs go completely limp and I have to ensure that clutch is all the way down for it to disengage. Has this happened to anyone else? Easy Fix? It's quite hard to describe but it seems that over time - if it continues to happen, I'm sure the internal components get a little messy. Seems to happen when I tend to fish quite fast and I might not be pressing the Clutch all the way in.

Ah gotcha - yeah - no I agree. Favorite Daiwa to date?

Future Tournements In New Jersey?
What part of Jersey are you in? Southern - 1Rod1Reel does bank tournaments every now and then. Otherwise - It's in your best interest to try to get into a club and fish in a buddy system. It is by far the best decision I have ever made. The amount of knowledge you learn and how to fish on pressured situations is something that money just cannot buy.

The Physics Behind Overhand Vs. Roll On A Baitcasting Reel
Yup - trying to learning something new everyday. I do happen to bank fish a lot and casting space is always of compromise. I also take great pride in being able to cast into anything and everything - obviously experience is going to out muscle that. Great info - Wish I had a boat to go into some heavy brush and just practice skip casting all day.

Project T 2016
I can see your point. Although - theoretically, a line guide with less resistance can only give you a smoother cast. I think the science behind it explains that there is definitely an improvement in the angle the line runs through. Daiwa is definitely making noise with the TWS system - whether it works or not. Their reels are still top notch and probably one of my favorite reels just based on how they feel and how little there is in play all around. I really enjoy my Tatula Type R's and Zillion and would definitely purchase more. I have the following reels; 1 - Daiwa Zillion TWS 2 - Daiwa Tatula Type R TWS 2 - Shimano Metanium DC 1 - Curado 200I 1 - AB Garcia STX 1 - Lews LFS Speed Spool What reels are you primarily fishing with? Just curious to see if I need to research some other types of reels - in the market as always

Project T 2016
I do love me some Daiwa TWS reels. Currently have 3 of them - now I need to wait to see what this is all about before I look into upgrading some of my other setups....

Sounds like a nice piece of property - do you know if the lake is private or public?

The Physics Behind Overhand Vs. Roll On A Baitcasting Reel
I know there are some genius' out there that could answer this question for me. I think I have it but I'd like to know the overall physics behind it. The current setup that I notice it most with is the Braided Reel setup. I've noticed that the likelihood that you are going to get a cinch in your reel is far higher when you do a overhand cast as opposed to a roll cast. I've known this for a while but I'm wondering what is the true cause of this. Nothing is worst when you try to throw a overhand cast to a target with braid and you see it come right back at you. LOL. I'm sure Flouro would just snap but I don't see the "V" inside the reel as much. So - here is my educated opinion on why it happens. With a overhand cast - you are fighting gravity at it's strongest direction - UP and Down. With this, causing more of a bend in your rod - leading to the rod bending and propelling a harder launch of your lure without your reel being adjusted properly considering the amount of roll casts you have more than likely setup the reel for. Is my assumption correct?

Daiwa Tatula Tat711Mhrb
I currently have 2 of them - for the price, cannot beat it. It looks great, is light, and quite durable as I am really rough with my fishing equipment. I use my 7" - MED for crankbaits while i use 6'10 for MH for Texas Rigs and etc. Overall - I am very pleased with Daiwa's Tatula Line up. I have the Tatula Type R matched with them.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
Yeah - I found out the other day it was being stocked and poured into their. A shame because I did get kicked out by some grump. Had to get the itch out. FD - it's going to be a dicey classic. Lol.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
I just cannot believe there would be one in this little pond. Features aren't as distinct as for example the fish you're holding in your profile picture.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
I don't know why but I am having a hard time believing this is a LMB. It was caught in a small pond with a depth of around 4-6 feet. I've never seen a pattern like this on a greenie. Anyone have any insight. Some type of hybrid? Has a small mouth color pattern.

South Jersey Bass Fishing
As most of you may know - been fishing with Fish Devil in the club. Have been seeing a lot of slow days on the moving baits. I've even been having trouble on the senkos. Fish seem to be out in the open water still to get away from the heat and sun. Devil has been killing it lately - as you can see from his posts. Looking to get out there this weekend to see what the fish are up to.
