The black max isnt a bad reel for the price and for the rod i would just check around i know tackle warehouse has a couple on sale i got the team daiwa t for like $45 and so far its not a bad rod, got the 6'6 medium and 7' heavy Goodluck

Ive been out fishing the past couple days and up here the i have some males lurking around and a couple smaller ones on beds but i cant get them to take anything, ive tried chatterbait, spinnerbait, jerkbait, jigs, and various texas rigs( i did get one on a t-rigged fake fish in pearl) but im having a hard time, so any thing i should try? Im fishing from the bank about 2-8ft out on the edges of lilly pads where ive been seeing 99% of the fish Thanks Tight lines

lol i just got trout fishing earlier, but i fish small creeks that i can pretty much cast across and usually people around me so i tend not to use a big rod it makes it harder to cast so i use a 5' ul rod and a pinnacle tiny deadbolt with 4lb fluro but if it gets tough ill use 2lb and idk how your fishing but i use a size 16 hook with a split shot 14-16in above the hook and either 1 or 2 split shots depending on how fast the water is moving

i picked up a couple storm twitch sticks last year and there not a bad bait for $5 and they have some nice colors

Lol i was fishing for smallmouth in a creek here and caught 2 trout on a strike king 1.0 i was just as amazed

Some people call them all steelhead, but a rainbow trout is a trout that spends its whole life in fresh water and a steelhead will spend time in the ocean and make its way to freshwater to spawn so steelheads are just a name for rainbows who lived in saltwater but since lake superior is connected to the atlantic ocean it may be a steelhead so my guess is as good as anyone elses lol
