Had to work for it
Launched around 2:30 this afternoon. Was clear and hot with water temps around 86 degrees. The lake I fished has tons of hydrilla and lilly pads that border the bank almost around the entire lake. From 2:45 until 7:30 I threw a swim jig, crankbait, pitbull creature bait t-rig, and a keitch noisy flapper. And a hollow body frog. Not a single bite but kept grinding. Decided to regroup and retie each rod. Switched up to a spinnerbait, jig n pig, and shadow rap shad jerkbait. Had a smaller bass hit the spinnerbait on the edge of the lillies, but missed him. Fished another hour with no luck. Switched up to the jerkbait right before dark near a grass bank with weeds and this one blew it up on the second twitch. My PB for the year. Weighted 3.62 which is a larger bass for my region of the world.

Question on 2-Bank Charger
It's a 2008 Mercury 2-Stroke. The speedometer doesn't work but the gps on my phone says I run 32 mph at full throttle on calm water.

Question on 2-Bank Charger
Been having trouble with the starter the last few days. Even took it out a time or two, launched it, and couldn't ever get it to start. Was planning on taking it to the shop on Saturday. I had the batteries wired in wrong. Had the positive wire running from the outboard to the cranking battery wired but forgot the negative. It was tucked down out of sight. After wiring everything correctly, motor starts right up and charger now works... I guess the starter was only getting partial volts that wasn't enough to turn the fly wheel. Oops LOL...

Question on 2-Bank Charger
The breaker is good and your correct in that there is a chord running from the charger out the back. At the end of this is the male end 3 prong plugin. I plugged it into my extension chord (which is good) and I looked up online that it should light up green, yellow, and red lights depending on the level of the batteries. I see the light panel on the charger but nothing lights up when I plug it in.

How do I know if the outlet is 110 volts lol? I just used my standard outdoor outlet off the back of my house.

Question on 2-Bank Charger
My 2008 Triton VT 17 Tourny Sport came with a Dual Pro XL 2-Bank Charger. I only run a 12-Volt setup with one cranking and one trolling battery. My question is this: Will my Mercury 2-Stroke outboard charge my batteries while it is running? I tried plugging the back of the boat in, but no lights or any type of activity seems to be going on with the onboard charger. How can I see if it is working?

Minimum length for Bass Boat for 2 people?
So you thinking changing the Champions to NGK's will result in a better idle?

Minimum length for Bass Boat for 2 people?
I I had the carbs taken out and checked they were clean. I also ran seafoam AND Stabil Marine in it. I've only gotten to take it out twice and it's been a tough cracker to start and idle both times. It stalls out several times but once I keep it going long enough to throw it into gear it runs smooth as can be. If I shut it down at the ramp dock to unload and try to start it back up to idle it onto the trailer when loading it stalls out to where I have to pull it on with my dock line and winch it on. The thing runs great when open throttle but idles rough as hell to the point it stalls out a lot. come to think of it, I did put new plugs in it last month and they are champions ?

Not not to hijack this thread, but I have the exact same motor except in a 50 HP. Does yours idle rough?

Moon phase theory?
I'd be more worried about whether it will be rainy or sunny, cold or warm, as opposed to what the moon is doing.

Let us know how it works out

Question about summertime bass.
Usually when all else fails its best to slow down. Hop a jig along the bottom. Flip a creature or craw bait in the gaps of the weeds. Maybe if you drop somethingon their head they will bite for desert. Have you tried a wacky senko or a shakey head a long the edges? I'm thinking slow and bottom during this phase where the bite slows down.

Boat Titles
He is going to call the loan company tomorrow to see what date it was sent out. I called the head WV DMV office in Charleston, WV and they said I need to have both titles and the notorized bill of sale in hand to register it in my name. The boat was previously registered in WV but has expired.

Boat Titles
Yes I know him personally used to work with him.

Boat Titles
No the registration has expired two years ago.

Boat Titles
I know I said they told him it would take around a week to receive them by mail.

Boat Titles
I bought my Triton from a guy in town two weeks ago. I gave him a check and he deposited it and called the finance company the next day and paid the loan off. They told him about a week to get the titles in the mail. It has been a little over two weeks. I cannot register the boat with the DMV until I have the titles and bill of sale in hand. The wait is killing me. I want to go fishing! Those of you that bought your boats in my same situation, how long did it take to get your titles in the mail?

Help diagnose my problem
Yeah that was a great find. I'm glad I have the piece of mind now knowing everything is in good shape. Still waiting on the titles to come in so I can register it asap.

Help diagnose my problem
Update: My friend stopped by and took off the carberators. Not a trace of buildup on any internal part of any of the 3. The jets and floats look like they came out of the box. We took apart the fuel lines, still brand new. He assembled everything and had me start it. It popped and stalled again. He said "lemme try something." He reached in and grabbed a lever and cranked the RPM up to about 3500. It popped and cracked and smoked and leveled out just as smooth as silk. He said he burned all of the bad fluids out of the motor. It ran smooth as could be and kicked in and out of gear perfectly without stalling. He said it's good to go. He said the motor needs to be re-broke in and will improve the more its ran.

Help diagnose my problem
It will immediately start back up without choking it. It will idle with a slight sputter for about 20 or so seconds then slowly time down to the point that it stalls out. The bulb pumps firm and it appears and smells to be getting plenty of gas. I talked to a guy that lives in town that is an expert mechanic. He said he thinks its 99% a carb problem. He is going to stop by the house tomorrow to take a look to see what the deal is. He agreed that for the price I paid for the boat, that you probably couldn't get the motor. He said he will take the bowls out of the carbs and check the float and jets and that if it needs cleaned he will clean them real good and reassemble them for me. I'll keep the post updated on how it goes and what we figure out.
