A Fresh Sliming
Thanks fellas. The weather here is getting ready to take a bit of a down turn and get cold and rainy. That's enough to keep me off the water. Winter sucks.

A Fresh Sliming
It's a good feeling to come across guys in a boat and ask how they are doing and have them respond with the "no luck so far" answer. Not that I want to hear about other's misfortunes but because it told me that I wasn't the only one struggling. We exchanged pleasantries and went our separate ways. In our chit chat the guy in the front of the boat said he came across someone who had limited out worm fishing. Not the way I really wanted to fish but I wanted to put some over the gunwales. Earlier in the morning I had tossed around a big stick bait and a lizard but neither did the trick so I was only hopeful a worm would work. I only had 12" PowerWorms with me and I wasn't sure they would work so I decided to try biting the legs off a lizard to see what would happen. HAHA. It worked! I'm only half as dumb as the fish I pursue! Not the proper sliming I was wanting to give her but at least she's smelly and dirty now. Just the way she's meant to be.

I picked up my Trident 13, Friday 2-13-15. Got it out Sun. The thing is fast, stable and paddles well. I've got a funny feeling my Big Game II is gonna be for sale.

Goose is correct in everything he said. You need to decide what will work best for you and one of the best ways to find that out is to demo as many as possible if you can. There are a couple of ways that can be done. 1. Find a local dealer that will let you demo a few or go to their demo day so that you can test several back to back. Although I do support my local shop I think the best way to check out several boats at once is to try to find a local kayak fishing club and see if they will let you tag along to one of their get togethers. There you can see how others have rigged their kayaks and see what may fit you. Buying a kayak or canoe is really pretty personal and what works for me may or may not work for you so do a little research before hand and answer the questions Goose put out there.- Transducer Mount For Kayaks

I totally understand being tight on cash but do yourself a favor and look at a quality used kayak. You can get into a used Trident 13 or Preception Pescador for about $500 rigged and ready to fish. i sold my old Pescador with a FF, anchor trolly and sound deadening in that price range. You'll be glad you spent the extra cash up front. BTW the only reason I sold the Pescador is because I'm on staff with another company and I wasn't using the boat anyway. I really liked that boat. My only two complaints were I couldn't stand and fish from it and the seat sucked. OMG that thing was uncomfortable.- Need The Basics For A Swim-Bait Rod
+1 on the Guide Select and the Cardiff 300 great set-up to get going on big baits with. Also consider an Okuma Citrix 364 reel. A lot of guys like Big Game in #25 0r #30 because it has a lot of give and will save you some cast offs. Trust me it sucks to watch a brand new bait go sailing away because of too light of line. - Thoughts On Canoe Or Kayak
