What would one need to fish with a baitcaster? I'm stuck between 10 lb mono or fluoro. What terminal tackle is best?

If you have an rpm gauge, does it roughly match your speed?

You will. But how big will the boat have to be? I can't fish Fontana anymore because they closed interstate 129 to vehicles over 30ft. That's including vehicles with trailers. I'm pushing almost 40ft. 15'+/- and 24' of trailer.

I don't do braid unless I'm fishing Guntersville.

We had this same issue on the old Merc 115 before we sold/bought a new boat. Yours have the hose attachment or are you using muffs? We tested ours for a couple days after the rebuild and after the first time on the lake, it didn't happen anymore.

Ok. Big question. Had some p line fluorocarbon on my rod about 8 months ago. Wasn't impressed because no line memory was basically a lie. Even with conditioner, it still tangled. Almost as bad as when line isn't spooled on correctly. Should I give fluorocarbon another chance or go mono/copoly with a fluorocarbon leader when needed? Keep in mind this will be used year round with no line chance until necessary.

Ok. So I've got my cranks, jigs, carolina/Texas rigs, drop shot, toowater, spinners....anything else I'm missing?

Well, I don't think I need more distance and the brake is set to basically nothing. I'm already throwing 1/4 oz lures on a 3/8 - 1 oz rod into anywhere from 5-15mph winds. Oh, you've got a different model. Mine has no magnet knob. Just 6 switches on the spool that I can adjust for wind and what not. Yours is still a great reel though.

I have been looking at their longer handles too. Get a little more power from the reel.

If you take the side cover off and engage all the magnets, no backlash. I haven't had one yet.

How long is the shipping? Like I said earlier...I was almost shaking I was so anxious for my rapala shipment to get here. That wasn't even a week.

We had some frames come through about 3 months ago. Had been saltwater used and none were made before 09. They were powder coated and when we started cutting them up for scrap, they were paint dipped. Don't know if this was an option or an after thought for the previous owners. No damage other than the fact that they had been in a wreck.

It's gonna be hard to get me away from the Lew's. That centrifugal magnet system....like Ronco. Set it and forget it. I honestly don't remember changing it since I set it out in the yard.

You learn on them, you love them. I've got 3 in the garage with broken tips. Very tempted to get them fixed no matter the cost.

My Lew's is stock. And if I'm spending the money on a lightweight rod, who knows. I might see what the weight difference is.
