  1. Picked up a couple megabass lures. Two pop max's and 10 pop x's. I am hooked on the pop x lures. Got all the pop x's new for $9.40 each. Worst case I can get my money back. Will post pics when they get here in a couple weeks.
  2. Glad I read this. I still have hope in getting my popx back that was lodged in a catfish's mouth last weekend
  3. Just got some pop-xish blanks from predator baits. After losing my one real pop x i figure I might give tese a try.
  4. I would second the pop max or pop-x. I plan on buying one for my dad for xmas (and asking for a couple as well)
  5. I use a spiderwire sling pack. Got it for $18 on sale. It holds 2 3600 size in one compartment and can fit another in the main pouch. I prefer to carry 1 box and numerous plastics. It is very comfortable to fish with. Easy to pull it in front of me when wading and no need to take it off to change baits. Saw the two rod holder requirement, This pack won't work for that requirement. I do sometimes keep a 2 piece 4'6" combo sticking out of the main pouch.
  6. Lost my a Megabass pop-x this morning. First cast, two pops and a huge fish fkr a 1/4 acre pond. Got it right up to the bank on 6lb line and was fighting my uncle's dog to get away from the fish as I was trying to lip it. He jumped in after it and snapped my line. I went in after the fish but couldn't get a grip. Luckily it was a catfish and not a bass. Probably 5+ lbs at least. One heck of a fight. Guess I'm in the market for a new pop-x.
  7. Never bought from them but Tackle Center has some awesome prices. I was eyeballing their Live Target lures at 50% off.
  8. Picked up two Pflueger Trion combos for $25 total from a local auction site. I knew the rods were busted but was happy that the reels were perfect. Now to figure out why I needed them...
  9. In the streams I fish strike king bitsy tubes work great and can be fished numerous ways. This time of year I would try poppers and small buzzbaits. I am wading on saturday and all I plan on bringing is a couple 1/8oz buzzbaits, tubes, curly tail grubs, and a couple poppers. I'm sure some zman TRD's may be hiding in my pack too. If I don't catch some fish off one of those I am doing something wrong.
  10. Thanks for the updates Mick. I will be on the hunt for old lipless cranks. Yard sales here I come
  11. After testing this morning the lipless weren't great. They had an ok wobble but kept wanting to turn on their side. The wake baits worked great. Most stayed on top witha few riding just below the surface. Going to try these out on a smallie creek and see how effective they are. I am going to keep playing with the lipless to see if I can get them to work. All lures were from wlure in case anyone was thinking about ordering them.
  12. Good to know. Like I said, if they don't work they'll make good xmas ornaments. I put size 2 short shanks so I'm not too confident after hearing your report. I am testing off the bank tomorrow so I doubt I will get to see te full affect. I plan on hitting up the yard sales looking for name brand lures to refinish.
  13. Going to try out my lineup of lipless cranks. Also going to give tgese a go. All were painted using regular ol' spray paint. Almost tempted to get an airbrush now...
  14. Not sure what you paid but I just bought the same hooks on Amazon for around $6 for an 11 pack. They are awesome!
  15. Not my favorite. Probably won't use this image again. Now I just have to wait for my wake baits and square bills to get in. Still waiting on the epoxy too... I'm ready to test these out.
  16. Picked up my first Megabass lure. PopX in white python. Slick looking. Can't wait to get out and use it this wknd.
  17. I have not. I still have two lipless left to do then will order some cranks. Not sure if I will go with ebay cranks or janns.
  18. I saw someone add glitter they bought from TW to their epoxy to help reflect light. I'm debating doing that since these aren't foil finished.
  19. Crappie. Just need my epoxy to come in...
  20. I will try the polish before the epoxy. Thanks for the tip.
  21. Inkjet. Must seal after printing. Laser you don't. I used white. I may do my next batch with clear and foil finish the bait first. Definitely addicting. Not adding 3d eyes to some and will to others. Just having fun and experimenting this point.
  22. Painting under the seams works for me.
  23. Ebay. Search lure blank. Came from china. No clue on the action. For a buck each I figure they'll be good to practice on. They are 1/2oz and came with eyes. 10 for $10 seemed pretty good. If they don't work I will hang them on the xmas tree
  24. I thought about taping but it would peel off the decal. Once my epoxy gets here I will add the decal, epoxy, then paint and tape, then epoxy again. Doubt it makes a difference to the fish. I just found out to seal them well. Lost half a decal once it hit the water. Something fun to pass the time.
  25. I am using spray paint so overspray and splattering covered much of the finish. Painting under the seams look better but you can see the seams. If I had an airbrush they would look much better. I used the instructions from tackleunderground. Used Testors decals and decal set to keep the seams down. Find a pattern online and line it up with my bait. Print and cut it out. Seal it, add to water, and peal off the pic. Takes about 10min work time, not counting dry time, per bait.
