Basic Bladed Jigs
Thanks for the tip. I've only fished a chatterbait a couple times. I liked the action amd thought it would be fun to make my own. Once I get the rest of my airbrush necessities in that will be my next adventure

Basic Bladed Jigs
i still need to work on my powder painting. Way too much paint. I may pony up for a fluid bed. These are very simple using barlows tackle 1/4oz shakee heads and blades, zmans banded skirts and rings/snaps I had around. Total cost is around a $1.80 per. No clue how the work yet but hope to test them this weekend.

Info on Academy Swimbaits
I fished them last weekend. No fish but great action. Got them for $2.99 during their Memorial Day sale. I ended up buying some for family at that price.

Hit up the Academy site for their $2.99 h2o bait sale. Picked up some sunfish and shad swim baits. Those things have great action amd for $3 you can't beat'em. Picked up some wake and prop baits too. 9 baits total for under $27. Even the wife was impressed. Also picked up 180oz of Sonny's dip bait for those nights on the bank.

Preparing larger catfish?
For me bleeding them out is key. Also I cut them up in bite size or slightly larger pieces. It allows for more me to have more batter than just a large filet. Have had many compliments on both large and small channel cats.

I put them in my checked bag. Declared the on my customs form which they didn't even ask for and walked right through. I was more worried about the Shochu (Japanese Liquor) but they didn't care about it either when I told them about it. They only asked about food, not goods.

I was in Japan last week and had one thing on my mind, Megabass. Surpisingly the stock was minimal at best. I was able to walk away with quite the Megabass haul of new and used lures. Sorry, no pics (yet). 2x Pop-X 2x V-4 Buzzbaits (new) 2x Griffon Cyclone Vibration X (new) Single blade spinnerbait (not sure of the name) All for $55. That'll keep me busy for a while.

Live Target Sunfish test

$$$ Saving Ideas
I have a local auction that sells Amazon returns. I look for their combos with broken rods. Picked up two Trion reels for $25 total. Love those reels.

Fall Bass Fishing Ponds
I took down quite a few this week on tubes. It was my best couple days on a small pond.

Bourbon (And All Things Whiskey. Or Whisky, If You Like Scotch)
Elijah Craig 12 year is almost always in stock at my house unless I drink it all. You can't beat it for price, taste, and proof. It's $24.50 where I live.

Bass Pro Shops Vs. Walmart
One thing great about BPS is their price match. Cabelas has the hot pot 2 marked down to $40. I showed the associate and he knocks $15 off the price plus my 5% back in points. I should have bought a jig mold since Cabelas is $15 cheaper too. They matched no questions asked. Said they would match wal-mart too

Catfish On A Crankbait!
Caught and broke off at the bank a 5-6lb cat on a white python pop-x. Couldn't get a grip on it. Very small pond so I plan on getting it back.

Small Boat Registration...what A Scam...
In Ohio you have to register all watercraft including inflatable kayaks. Gotta follow the laws or get fined. Pretty easy concept.

It's not too bad. They averaged out to about $10 each. I'll be loading up in March when I go to Japan.

Need Help Lightening My Tackle Bag
I'm still a beginner so take my advice with a grain of salt. I just packed my bag for tomorrow morning. Quarry lake with no grass/pads. I packed one 3600 box with some tube jig heads, worm hooks, weights and shakey heads. Packed a couple jigs, couple poppers in white and black, white spinnerbait, wake baits, some craw trailers, tubes, ned rig, various robo worms. Very limited but covers most of what I would cover with 4x the baits. 3-4lbs with my scale, water bottle, pack, and pliers. I forget i'm carrying it most the time. If you think you'll use everything you pack then definitely take it. I don't pack "just in case" stuff too often. I do ultralight backpacking so I try to keep it simple. If you haven't used a lure on your last couple outings, leave it home. Did the same with backpacking gear when cutting weight. Hope that helps.

Expensive Lures - Selection
I see GG Bass and white python as most people's choice. Those are the colors that are available the most too so that may play into it. For me it's white python but I have a couple other colors I will be trying out to see if it makes any difference.

Has Anyone Bought Lures Or Lure Blanks From Wlure.com
No problem. I just use rattle can spray paint. Easy enough. I'm not sure what kind of hooks and rings they use but I can imagine they are on the lower end. Let us know how their finished lures work.

I'm talking their little 2 inch baits with the small lip. I have a posting somewhere out there that shows some painted up. The one below is it.

Their lipless cranks are junk. Swim on their side. At least the ones I bought did. Squarebills look good but haven't tested them. Wakebaits are awesome. No clue on the lure you linked to.
